Lee Smith (born November 1, 1944) is an American fiction author who typically incorporates much of her background from the Southeastern United States in her works. She has received writing awards, such as the O. Henry Award, the American Academy of Arts and Letters Award for Fiction, the North Carolina Award for Literature, and, in April 2013, was the first recipient of Mercer University's Sidney Lanier Prize for Southern Literature. Her novel ''The Last Girls'' was listed on the ''New York Times'' bestseller's list and won the Southern Book Critics Circle Award. ''Mrs Darcy and the Blue-Eyed Stranger'', a collection of new and selected stories, was published in 2010. Lee Smith, ACE, (born June 10, 1960) is an Australian film editor who has worked in the film industry since the 1980s. He began his film career as a sound editor before establishing himself as an editor. His breakthrough came when he began collaborating with director Peter Weir. Smith is best known for his work on several of Christopher Nolan's films, including ''Batman Begins'' (2005), ''The Dark Knight'' (2008), ''Inception'' (2010), ''The Dark Knight Rises'' (2012), '' Interstellar'' (2014) and ''Dunkirk'' (2017), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Film Editing. Estradasphere was an American experimental band that originated in Santa Cruz, California, during the late 1990s. The band, which in its last incarnation was based in Seattle, consisted of six multi-instrumentalists from a variety of musical backgrounds trained in disciplines ranging from classical music and jazz to heavy metal. In November 2007, members of Estradasphere started touring with Amanda Palmer of The Dresden Dolls, as well as helping to produce her debut solo album ''Who Killed Amanda Palmer''. The band is on a "''permanent hiatus''" since 2010. Lee Harold Smith (born April 10, 1962) is an American journalist and author. He is a senior fellow at Hudson Institute and was a senior editor at ''The Weekly Standard''. Joseph "Lee" Smith (born November 21, 1987) is a former American football tight end who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons with the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Oakland Raiders and Atlanta Falcons. He played college football at Marshall University, and was drafted by the Patriots in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. In late January 2022 he announced he would retire from the NFL. College career Smith originally committed and enrolled at the University of Tennessee, where his father Daryle played. Lee Arthur Smith (born December 4, 1957) is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played 18 years in Major League Baseball (MLB) for eight teams. Serving mostly as a relief pitcher during his career, he was a dominant closer and held the major league record for career saves from 1993 until 2006, when Trevor Hoffman passed his total of 478. Lee Smith (born 8 August 1986) is an English former professional rugby league footballer who played as a Goal (sports)#Rugby football, goal-kicking or for the Bradford Bulls in Betfred League 1.
