Lee Martin (footballer, Born February 1968)
Lee Andrew Martin (born 5 February 1968) is an English former football left back. He played with Manchester United, Celtic and Bristol Rovers, among others. He represented his country at under 21 level. Playing career Martin started his career in the Manchester United youth system. In 1990, he scored the only goal in the FA Cup final replay against Crystal Palace. This was one of just two goals Martin scored in his entire United career. The other goal, his first, came 16 months earlier in the 3–1 defeat of West Ham at Upton Park. His debut came on 9 May 1988 as a substitute in a 2–1 home league win over Wimbledon and he made his breakthrough at left back the following season following the departure of Arthur Albiston. By the time of his first United goal, in a 3–1 win at West Ham United in the league of 21 January 1989, he was a regular feature in the United squad. Lee Brendan Martin (born 9 September 1968) is an English former professional footballer. He played as a goalkeeper for many teams in the north of England. He graduated from the University of Salford's Physiotherapy degree in 2002 and was the physiotherapist at his home-town club, Huddersfield Town between 2003 and 2008. Lee Robert Martin (born 9 February 1987) is an English professional footballer. He can play as a winger or as a supporting striker for Dover Athletic. Playing career Manchester United Martin began his career as a trainee with Wimbledon, where he caught the eye of many Premier League teams. Pursued by a number of other top clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, he signed for Manchester United on 17 December 2003, following a week-long trial in October 2003, during which time he made one appearance for the Manchester United Under-19s team. Lee Martin is an American author. Born in Illinois, he lived on a farm ten miles from Sumner, which he regards as his home town. He lived in Oak Forest, Illinois, and attended Kimberly Heights Elementary School, where his mother worked as a teacher, and Arbor Park Middle School from 1963 to 1969. Martin was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2006 for his novel ''The Bright Forever'' and has published five novels, three memoirs, two story collections, and a craft book. He teaches in Ohio State University's creative writing program and lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife, Cathy, and Stella the Cat. Anne Wingate (September 4, 1943 – September 2, 2021) was a mystery, fantasy, and romance writer who lived in Salt Lake City, Utah. She owned two publishing houses (including one with her husband), and published works under her own name as well as the pseudonyms Lee Martin and Martha G. Webb. She died on September 2, 2021, in Salt Lake City. William Lee Martin (7 February 1870 – 21 December 1950), known as Lee Martin, was a New Zealand politician of the Labour Party. Biography Early life Martin was born in Oamaru in 1870. He received his education at Waimate District High School and at Christchurch Normal School. After school, he was an officer for The Salvation Army for six years. Afterwards, he was a painter and joined the Labour movement in Wanganui in 1902, was Secretary of the Wanganui Painters’ Union (1909–1912) and, for 4 years, a member of the Wanganui Technical School Board. He became a dairy farmer at Matangi in the Waikato and had two years as president of the Waikato Farmers’ Union. He was in the Salvation Army and Methodist Church and served for many years on school committees, Tamahere Road Board, Matangi Glaxo Factory Suppliers' Committee and as a member of the Central Waikato Electric Power Board from its formation in 1920.
