Lee F. Jackson
Lee F. Jackson is the former chancellor of the University of North Texas System (2002–2017). Jackson was the State of Texas' longest-serving Chancellor when he announced his retirement in March, 2017. Jackson previously served as Dallas County Judge from 1987 to 2001. A chancellor is a leader of a college or university, usually either the executive or ceremonial head of the university or of a university campus within a university system. The University of North Texas System is a public university system headquartered in Dallas, Texas. It is the administrative overseer of three otherwise autonomous Texas institutions of higher learning: the University of North Texas, a comprehensive research institution based in Denton; the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth; and the University of North Texas at Dallas in South- and Downtown Dallas.
