Lee DuMonde is a fictional character from ''Days of Our Lives'' portrayed by Brenda Benet from 1979 to 1982. The character was written out after Benet's suicide in 1982. Brenda Benet (born Brenda Ann Nelson; August 14, 1945 – April 7, 1982) was an American actress. She is best known for her roles on the soap operas ''The Young Marrieds'' (1965–1965) and ''Days of Our Lives'' (1979–1982). She was also featured in an episode of Hogan's Heroes in 1970. Early life and career Benet was born Brenda Ann Nelson in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California; later, her family moved to South Gate. She graduated from South Gate High School, attended Los Angeles City College, then studied at the University of California at Los Angeles, majoring in languages. She studied with San Francisco Ballet, was featured in several productions of the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera, was a musician who played piano, flute and violin, and was fluent in five languages. Elizabeth Louise Harrower (May 28, 1918 – December 10, 2003) was an American actress and television writer. Early years Harrower was born during World War I in Alameda, California, during the great flu epidemic. Betty Corday (born Elizabeth Shay; March 21, 1912 – November 17, 1987) was a Broadway dramatic actress and long-time American television producer. She co-created and executive produced the long running NBC drama ''Days of Our Lives'' from 1966 until her death in 1987. Al Rabin (January 26, 1936 – August 14, 2012) was a producer of soap operas, specifically known for his work on ''Days of Our Lives''. Rabin served in multiple capacities in his sixteen years at ''Days'', first as a director and then as a supervising executive producer to Mrs. Ted Corday, and from 1985 to 1992 as a co-executive producer. Rabin retired from television work in the mid-1990s. His contributions earned him and the show eight Daytime Emmy Award nominations for outstanding direction and outstanding drama series. Renée DuMonde is a fictional character on the television soap opera ''Days of Our Lives''. The role was portrayed by Philece Sampler from 1981 to 1983, with guest appearances in 1984. She is the daughter of Stefano DiMera and Lee DuMonde. Renée is notable for being the first member of the DiMera family to appear on the soap opera.
