Lee Altus
Lee Altus is a Ukrainian-American heavy metal guitarist currently playing in Exodus and Heathen. Career Altus first came to public attention in the mid-1980s with his original band, Heathen. He served as the principal songwriter and a founding member of Heathen playing on all four of their LPs, '' Breaking the Silence'', '' Victims of Deception'', '' The Evolution of Chaos'' and ''Empire of the Blind''. In 1990, Altus was considered for the position in Megadeth vacated by Jeff Young, but declined, and the job was given instead to Marty Friedman. He later became a permanent member of the band Exodus. After Heathen broke up in 1992, Altus moved to Germany along with his fellow ex-Heathen members Doug Piercy and Darren Minter. Heathen (band)
Heathen is an American thrash metal band originating from the San Francisco Bay Area, active from 1984 to 1993 and again from 2001 onwards. Despite never achieving commercial success, the band is often credited – alongside Exodus, Testament, Forbidden, Death Angel and Vio-lence – as one of the leaders of the Bay Area thrash metal scene of the mid-to-late 1980s, and they have gone through several line-up changes, leaving guitarist Lee Altus as the only constant member. It is the band's first album in 11 years, following '' The Evolution of Chaos'' (2009), the first to feature Jason Mirza and Jim DeMaria on bass and drums respectively, and their first release on Nuclear Blast. ''Persona Non Grata'' is the eleventh studio album by American thrash metal band Exodus, released on November 19, 2021. It is their first studio album since '' Blood In, Blood Out'' in 2014, and their second to feature vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza since he returned to the band that same year. ''Blood In, Blood Out'' is the tenth studio album by American thrash metal band Exodus (American band), Exodus. It was released on October 14, 2014 through Nuclear Blast, and is the band's first album with vocalist Steve Souza, Steve "Zetro" Souza since 2004's ''Tempo of the Damned''. The album also saw a reunion with original guitarist Kirk Hammett, who plays the guitar solo on "Salt the Wound". Let There Be Blood
''Let There Be Blood'' is a studio album with re-recorded songs of Exodus's 1985 ''Bonded by Blood'', featuring their lineup at the time. The only band members who play on both ''Bonded by Blood'' and ''Let There Be Blood'' are guitarist Gary Holt and drummer Tom Hunting. The track "Hell's Breath" originally appears on the "1983 Rehearsal" with Kirk Hammett and never was recorded officially. Reception ''Let There Be Blood'' has met mixed reviews. ''The Atrocity Exhibition'' is an experimental novel of linked stories or "condensed novels" by British writer J. G. Ballard. The book was originally published in the UK in 1970 by Jonathan Cape. After a 1970 edition by Doubleday & Company had already been printed, Nelson Doubleday Jr. personally cancelled the publication and had the copies destroyed, fearing legal action from some of the celebrities depicted in the book. Thus, the first US edition was published in 1972 by Grove Press under the title ''Love and Napalm: Export USA''. It was made into a film by Jonathan Weiss in 2000. Ira Black (born March 23, 1971) is an American heavy metal guitarist. He has played in over 60 bands since the early 1980s and is best known for his work with I Am Morbid, Westfield Massacre, Metal Church, Vicious Rumors, Heathen, Lizzy Borden and Dokken. Black has been a strict vegan for 20 years. While in LA County jail in 2009 on a traffic violation, Black garnered national media attention by going on a 10-day hunger strike when he was refused vegan meals.
