Led Zeppelin United Kingdom Tour 1970
Led Zeppelin's 1970 United Kingdom Tour was a concert tour of the United Kingdom by the English rock band. The tour commenced on 7 January and concluded on 17 February 1970. This tour is arguably best known for the band's performance at the Royal Albert Hall on 9 January. Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin were an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The group comprised vocalist Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. We're Gonna Groove
"We're Gonna Groove" (or "Groovin" as it was originally titled) is a song written by soul artist Ben E. King and later co-credited to James Bethea. In 1964, it was released as the single B-side of King's rendition of " What Now My Love". Although the single did not reach the record charts, critic Richie Unterberger felt that the song was one of King's best self-penned efforts. He compared the arrangement to James Brown's early 1960s work and added "King is mostly known for ballads and romantic numbers, but 'Groovin' convincingly demonstrates that he could also write and sing bluesy, swinging uptempo soul numbers." White Summer
"White Summer" is a guitar instrumental by English rock guitarist Jimmy Page, that incorporates Indian and Arabic musical influences. Page initially recorded and performed it with the Yardbirds and later included it in many Led Zeppelin concerts. According to biographer Keith Shadwick, it is based on an old Irish folk song, "specifically derived from ' She Moved Through the Fair' in the 1963 version by avyGraham, which he in turn credited to Padraic Colum". The later Led Zeppelin song " Over the Hills and Far Away" was "spun off" from "White Summer" as well as an unreleased 20-minute instrumental recorded in early 1974 at Headley Grange. Yardbirds song "White Summer" was recorded 28–29 April 1967 at De Lane Lea Studios in London. John Paul Jones (musician)
John Richard Baldwin (born 3 January 1946), better known by his stage name John Paul Jones, is an English musician, composer and record producer who was the bassist and keyboardist for the rock band Led Zeppelin. Prior to forming the band with Jimmy Page in 1968, he was a session musician and arranger. After the death of drummer John Bonham in 1980, Led Zeppelin disbanded, and Jones developed a solo career. He has collaborated with musicians across a variety of genres, including the supergroup Them Crooked Vultures with Dave Grohl and Josh Homme. "Heartbreaker" is a song by the English rock band Led Zeppelin from their 1969 album, ''Led Zeppelin II''. It was credited to all four members of the band, recorded at A&R Recording and Atlantic Studios in New York City during the band's second concert tour of North America, and engineered by Eddie Kramer. "Heartbreaker" opens the second side of the album and features a guitar riff by Jimmy Page. Dazed And Confused (song)
"Dazed and Confused" is a song written by American singer-songwriter Jake Holmes in 1967. Performed in a folk rock style, he recorded it for his debut album '' "The Above Ground Sound" of Jake Holmes''. Although some concluded that it was about a bad acid trip, Holmes insists the lyrics refer to the effects of a girl's indecision on ending a relationship. After hearing Holmes perform the song in August 1967, English rock group the Yardbirds reworked it with a radically different arrangement. It quickly became a centerpiece of their live performances, several recordings of which have been released, including on ''Yardbirds '68'', produced by guitarist Jimmy Page.
