Lebo is a city in Coffey County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 885. History Lebo was founded in 1883. It was named for Capt. Joe Lebo, a pioneer settler. The first post office in Lebo was established on June 4, 1883. Geography Lebo is located at (38.415517, -95.858633). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , of which is land and is water. Climate The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Lebo has a humid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps. Lebo Junior-Senior High School is a public high school located in Lebo, Kansas, in the Lebo–Waverly USD 243 school district, serving students in grades 6–12. Lebo has an enrollment of approximately 122 students. The principal is Dr. Melissa Veatch. The school mascot is the Wolves and the school colors are red, black, and white. Extracurricular activities The Wolves compete in the Lyon County League. The KSHSAA classification switches between 2A and 1A, the two lowest classes according to KSHSAA. The school also has a variety of organizations for the students to participate in. Athletics The Wolves compete in the Lyon County League and are classified as either 2A or 1A, two of the lowest classifications in Kansas according to KSHSAA. David Adam Le Batard (also known by the nickname LEBO) (born 19 November 1972) is a Cuban-American graphic and fine artist based in Miami, Florida, best known for murals, live painting and sculpture. He has been described as one of southern Florida's "most recognizable artists", and "almost an institution" in the art world for his wide range of media, projects and locations. Personal history Le Batard was born in New York City in 1972 to Cuban immigrant parents, Gonzalo and Lourdes Le Batard. He was raised in South Florida, where he attended the Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School in Hollywood, Florida, then Florida International University.
