Leben (Crete)
Leben ( grc, Λέβην) or Lebena (Λέβηνα) or Lebene (Λεβήνη) was a maritime town of ancient Crete, a harbour of Gortyna, about 70 stadia inland. It possessed a temple of Asclepius, of great celebrity. In the ''Peutinger Table'' its name appears as Ledena. According to the ''Stadiasmus Maris Magni'', it had a harbour and was located 270 stadia from Biannus and 50 stadia from Halas.''Stadiasmus Maris Magni'' §§ 321-322. Leben is the third studio album by German electronic musician, composer and producer Christopher von Deylen under his Schiller alias. It features collaborations with renowned vocalists such as Sarah Brightman, Maya Saban, Peter Heppner and Kim Sanders. Schiller used Daf and Tombak which are the two most Powerful Persian percussive instruments on the 10th track of this album (The Smile ft Sarah Brightman) The album achieved platinum status in Germany in 2016. "Leben… I Feel You" is the second single from the 2003 Schiller album '' Leben'' with vocals by Peter Heppner. The song was officially released on 1 October 2003 and peaked at number 15 in the German singles chart and at number 1 in the Romanian singles chart in 2004. It is the second co-operation between Schiller and the German singer Heppner after the song " Dream of You". The single and music video version differs slightly from the album version; the video version has a length of 3:49 minutes and the album version has a length of 5:35 minutes. The single includes the song ″Vielklang″, which was not released on any album. The single was released in two versions, purple and green with different songs. The cover art work shows a graphic of a tree, which represents one of the four elements, earth. The complete four elements are shown on the art work of the album ''Leben''. Azad (rapper)
Azad Azadpour (born 24 November 1973), known professionally as Azad, is a German rapper of Kurdish descent based in Frankfurt. As one of the first German street rappers who become successful, he strongly influenced the German rap scene. Career After having arrived in Germany from Sanandaj in Iranian Kurdistan at the young age of 10, he was into hip hop, rap, beatboxing, and graffiti. In 1988, he joined D-Flame (Daniel Kretschmer), A-Bomb, and Combad in Cold-N-Locco. The group was renamed Asiatic Warriors in 1990 and mixed songs in German, English, Persian and Kurdish and achieved great fame through signing with Ruff'n'Raw Label and the EP ''Told Ya!''. Internal differences between the band members resulted in the Asiatic Warriors breaking up. In 1999, Azad signed as a solo artist with Pelham Power Productions. Katja Ebstein
Katja Ebstein (born Karin Witkiewicz; 9 March 1945) is a German singer. She was born in Girlachsdorf (now Gniewków, Poland). She achieved success with songs such as "Theater" and "Es war einmal ein Jäger". She was married to , who wrote many of her songs. Ebstein represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest three times, in 1970, 1971 and 1980. She also took part in Ein Lied für Stockholm in 1975 with the song "Ich liebe dich", placing 5th in the selection. . Her best performance was in 1980 when she gained second place with the entry "Theater", her other two songs " Wunder gibt es immer wieder" and " Diese Welt" each came to third places. As noted by John Kennedy O'Connor in his book ''The Eurovision Song Contest – The Official History'', Ebstein is the most successful performer to have taken part in the contest without ever winning.
