Leathür Records
Leathür Records was American glam metal band Mötley Crüe's original record label that was also owned by their original manager Allan Coffman. Leathür's only release was the band's 1981 debut studio album ''Too Fast for Love''. Leathür Records was manufactured and distributed by Greenworld Distribution of Torrance, California in what is referred to as a "pressing & distribution" (p&d) deal. The band retained ownership of the masters while Greenworld maintained the exclusive license to manufacture and distribute the album. Greenworld subsequently renamed the division that was supporting the Mötley Crüe project as Enigma Records and it is considered the first official Enigma Records release. Mötley Crüe was then picked up by Elektra Records and the record was ordered to be re-mixed for re-release. Mötley Crüe
Mötley Crüe is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1981. The group was founded by bassist Nikki Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee, lead guitarist Mick Mars and lead singer Vince Neil. Mötley Crüe has sold over 100 million albums worldwide. They have also achieved seven platinum or multi-platinum certifications, nine Top 10 albums on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart (including 1989's '' Dr. Feelgood'', which is Mötley Crüe's only album to reach number one), twenty-two Top 40 mainstream rock hits, and six Top 20 pop singles. Roy Thomas Baker
Roy Thomas Baker (born 10 November 1946) is an English record producer, songwriter and arranger, who has produced rock and pop and songs since the 1970s. Career Baker began his career at Decca Records at the age of 14 and later worked as an assistant engineer at Morgan Studios. ''New Tattoo'' is the eighth studio album by the American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, released in 2000. Artistically, ''New Tattoo'' shows the band returning to the earlier musical style that gave them commercial success in the 1980s and early 1990s. This is the only album by the band not to feature drummer Tommy Lee, who left the band a year before, and was replaced by former Ozzy Osbourne drummer Randy Castillo on the album. The album artwork was inspired by the cover of Bruce Dickinson's album ''Tattooed Millionaire'', whose title track is said to be about Dickinson's wife cheating on him with bassist Nikki Sixx, as revealed in Mötley Crüe's biography '' The Dirt''. Mötley Records is a record label founded by the American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe after severing their ties with Elektra Records and acquiring the rights to their music catalog. It serves as a successor to the band's original record label Leathür Records, which released their 1981 debut album ''Too Fast for Love'', an imprint of Greenworld Distribution, owned by the band and original manager Allan Coffman. Leathür was soon closed when Mötley Crüe signed a deal with Elektra, which lasted until 1997. Elektra Records (or Elektra Entertainment) is an American record label owned by Warner Music Group, founded in 1950 by Jac Holzman and Paul Rickolt. Enigma Records (also known as Enigma Entertainment Corporation) was a popular rock and alternative American record label in the 1980s. History Enigma Records launched as a division of Greenworld Distribution, an independent music importer/distributor, in 1981. Four years later, in 1985, Enigma severed ties with Greenworld and became its own company.
