The monthly Exclaim! print magazine publishes 7 ...'' gave the album a 7 out of 10 and described it as "a fun, funky feel-good album for the summer." Logan Smithson of '' PopMatters'' gave the album 5 stars out of 10, saying, "It's probably easier to appreciate ''Leanin' on Slick'' if you're older or a die-hard fan of Aceylone, but it's probably not a great album no matter what angle you're listening from." Aceyalone
Edwin Maximilian "Eddie" Hayes, Jr. (born September 30, 1970), better known by his stage name Aceyalone, is an American rapper from Los Angeles, California, United States. He is a member of Freestyle Fellowship, Haiku D'Etat and The A-Team. He is also a co-founder of Project Blowed. Aceyalone is best known for his role in evolving left-field hip-hop on the West Coast at a time when the West Coast was dominated by gangsta rap. Career Project Blowed and Freestyle Fellowship Aceyalone emerged from the Project Blowed collective, considered to be the longest-running open mic hip-hop workshop. He began rapping as part of the group Freestyle Fellowship, which consisted of Aceyalone, Myka 9, and Self Jupiter. Later, P.E.A.C.E. Freestyle Fellowship developed a reputation for influencing a style of fast double-time rap used by rappers like Busta Rhymes, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, and Migos. Decon'' is a New York-based creative studio that houses production, creative, strategy, and music divisions. The company creates campaigns on behalf of brands and advertising agencies. History Originally named Deconstruction Company, the company was founded in 2002 by Peter Bittenbender and Jason Goldwatch after the creation of their award-winning hip-hop documentary and accompanying soundtrack, ''One Big Trip''. The soundtrack was then released as a double-sided DVD/CD in 2002 with Hieroglyphic Imperium Records - it is thought to be the first hip-hop-centric release in the hybrid format. Jason Goldwatch (born September 1, 1976) is an American music video director and commercial director who is a Co-Founder and Executive Creative Director of Decon, a creative agency and record label based in New York. He is best known for his work with Kid Cudi, Pharrell Williams, Linkin Park, Evidence, Action Bronson, and Dilated Peoples. Goldwatch has also partnered with The Alchemist for the experimental performance art group Media Muerte. Background Goldwatch was born in San Francisco, where he attended San Francisco School of the Arts before going to Cal Arts. He worked at several production companies (including Satellite Films, where he was recruited by Spike Jonze) before touring with Dilated Peoples as their videographer.
