Leah Bartlett
Leah Bartlett (born 28 August 1998) is a Scottish rugby player from Lougborough who has played in the Premier 15s and Women's Six Nations, including the 2021 Women's Six Nations Championship. She has also played for the England Women's U20 team. Club career Bartlett played for Loughborough Town before moving to Loughborough Lightning in 2018. Bartlett is one of a contingent of Scottish internationals at the Premier 15s club including Jenny Maxwell, Helen Nelson, Emma Wassell and Rachel Malcolm. She frequently starts at Prop for the team. She was part of the Lightning team that finished third in the 2018/19 Tyrells Premier 15s. International career Bartlett was selected for the England U20s team in 2016 when she was studying at Loughborough College. In her first match for the squad, she scored in a 38-15 defeat against Army Women in Aldershot. Loughborough Lightning are a women's rugby union club based in Loughborough, Leicestershire, England. They are the women's team of Loughborough Students RUFC and Loughborough University. Together with the netball team and the women's cricket team, the rugby union team is one of three women's sports teams based Loughborough University that use the Loughborough Lightning name. Loughborough Athletic and Football Club were an English football club based in Loughborough, Leicestershire, that played in the Football League at the end of the 19th century. History The club started life as Loughborough Football Club in 1886 from a merger of Victoria and Athletic, the two senior sides in the town, using the latter's ground then called Bromhead or Hubbard Cricket Ground. Premier 15s
The Premier 15s, currently known for sponsorship purposes as the Allianz Premier 15s, is the top tier of the women's English rugby union domestic league system run by the Rugby Football Union (RFU). The league was created mainly from teams in the Women's Premiership. Its first season began on 16 September 2017. The reigning champions are Saracens Women. History The Premier 15s was founded by the RFU in October 2016 as Women's Super Rugby, where teams involved would have to invest in training facilities and meet increased minimum standards. The RFU will invest millions of pounds in the clubs over the first three seasons to help develop the improved standards. The 2021 Women's Six Nations Championship was the 20th series of the Women's Six Nations Championship, an annual women's rugby union competition between England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. The 2021 tournament was given a change of format from its traditional eight week round-robin format to a four-week format consisting of two pools of three teams with a final, inspired by the format of the Autumn Nations Cup, which replaced the 2020 Autumn Internationals. Jenny Maxwell (rugby Union)
Jenny Maxwell (born 8 December 1992) is a Scottish professional rugby union player, who plays for Scotland Women. She was one of the team for the 2021 Women's Six Nations Championship. She jointly holds the record for the most Scotland Women's 7s caps and has over 30 caps for XVs. Club career At 15, Maxwell began playing for Nottingham Paviors RFC. Between 2012 and 2017 she played for Lichfield RFC, and played for her university, Leeds Beckett, from 2011 to 2016. Maxwell's first club contract was for Loughborough Lightning, in 2017. Helen Nelson (rugby Union)
Helen Nelson (born 24 May 1994) is a Scottish rugby union player. She played for Scotland and was captain for the team at the 2021 Women's Six Nations Championship in their winning match against Wales. She was the captain of the Scotland Rugby Union Sevens Captain from 2018-2019 and has also been a member of the Scottish Alpine Ski Team (2009-2012). Emma Wassell (born 28 December 1994) is a Scottish rugby union player from Aberdeen. She made her debut for Scotland's national team in the opening Six Nations match of 2014 and has played in every subsequent national match, including the 2021 Women's Six Nations Championship. Dr Rachel Ann Malcolm is a Scottish professional rugby player for Loughborough Lightning in the Allianz Premier 15s and Scotland Women. She plays predominantly as a Openside Flanker, however is also at home across the back row. She captained Scotland for the 2021 Women's Six Nations Championship but was forced to step down due to a knee injury in the team's opening game. The 2020 Women's Six Nations Championship was the 19th series of the Women's Six Nations Championship, an annual women's rugby union competition between six European rugby union national teams. Matches were originally scheduled for February and March 2020, on the same weekends as the men's tournament, if not always the same day. Philip Doyle (born 1 November 1964) is an Irish rugby union coach. He is the head coach of the Scotland women's national team. Coaching career Doyle first coached the women's national team from 2003 to 2006.
