''Le comiche 2'' is a 1991 Italian comedy film directed by Neri Parenti. It is the sequel to 1990 film '' Le comiche'' and the second installment in the ''Comiche'' trilogy. Neri Parenti
Neri Parenti (born 26 April 1950, in Florence) is an Italian film director and writer. He is known for comedy films, including the series starring Paolo Villaggio playing the character Ugo Fantozzi, and a later series of '' cinepanettoni'' - zany comedy films scheduled for release during the Christmas period. Biography After graduating in political science, he dedicated his career to filmmaking. He became a pupil and assistant of Pasquale Festa Campanile from 1972 to 1979, and also worked for Salvatore Samperi, Steno and Giorgio Capitani. In 1979 he directed his first film, '' The Face with Two Left Feet'', an ironic and comical parody of '' Saturday Night Fever'' with John Travolta, which had been a hit two years earlier. A year later he met the film actor and director Paolo Villaggio, who was then filming ''Fantozzi contro tutti''. ''Le comiche'' is a 1990 Italian comedy film written and directed by Neri Parenti and starring Renato Pozzetto and Paolo Villaggio. It had two sequels, ''Le comiche 2'' (1991) and ''Le nuove comiche'' (1994). Plot Neri Parenti creates some comic episodes, inserting various gags taken from films of the past: Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. In the silent black and white prologue two railroad workers, Paolo and Renato, are trying to outrun a steam train and jump out of the screen into a movie theatre; in the first episode they are bungling painters who ruin a wedding; in the second the two friends destroy a gas station; in the third episode they are forced to work in the mountain chalet, ruining the holiday for all customers; in the last the two friends are the perfect double of two fierce mafia, who plan to use the "twins" for a suicide mission; in the epilogue Paolo and Renato are chased by characters of all the episodes back into the silent film. Romano Puppo
Romano Puppo (25 March 1933 – 11 May 1994) was an Italian stuntman and actor. Life and career Born in Rome, Puppo debuted in 1961 in the Mauro Bolognini's drama '' Careless'', and after a number of very minor roles he soon became a regular of Italian genre cinema in roles of henchmen and villains. Mainly active in Spaghetti Westerns and Poliziotteschi films, he was also cast as the Paolo Villaggio's antagonist in a number of comedies. He was hired as Lee Van Cleef's stuntman and double stand-in by director Gianfranco Parolini for his ''Sabata'' trilogy, and was one of his pallbearers in 1989. He served as his stuntman in a number of films including '' Sabata'' (1969), ''Commandos'' (1968) along Giampiero Albertini, and ''The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'' (1966) along Benito Stefanelli. Antonio Allocca
Antonio Allocca (24 June 1937 – 31 December 2013) was an Italian character actor. Life and career Born in Portici, Naples, Allocca debuted on stage in 1956, then in 1958 he worked with Eduardo De Filippo at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan in the comedy play ''Pulcinella in cerca della sua fortuna per Napoli''. In 1962 he made his television debut in ''Ditegli sempre di sì'' and ''Napoli Milionaria'', both directed by De Filippo. Very active both on stage and in films mainly in character roles, Allocca enjoyed a late success as in 1988, with the role of the professor of Italian in the three seasons of the Italia 1 television series ''I ragazzi della 3ª C''. Giulio Donnini (born 17 February 1924) is an Italian film actor. Life and career Born in Milan, Donnini made his film debut in 1946, in Giacomo Gentilomo's ''Teheran''. Paul Konrad Müller (11 March 1923 – 2 September 2016) was a Swiss actor who appeared mostly in Italian films. His motion picture acting career in Europe spanned a period of 51 years.
