Le Mur is a contemporary urban art spot in rue Oberkampf ( 11eme arrondissement) in Paris, France. It is the initial spot of the street art movement in Paris in April 2000. Fermont () is a town in northeastern Quebec, Canada, near the Quebec-Labrador border about from Labrador City on Route 389, which connects to the Trans-Labrador Highway (Newfoundland and Labrador Route 500). It is the seat of the Regional County Municipality of Caniapiscau. Fermont (French contraction of "''Fer Mont''", meaning "Iron Mountain") was founded as a company town in the early 1970s to exploit rich iron ore deposits from Mont Wright, which is about to the west. The town is notable for the huge self-contained structure containing apartments, stores, schools, bars, a hotel, restaurants, a supermarket and swimming pool which shelters a community of smaller apartment buildings and homes on its leeward side. Popularly known as The Wall (''Le Mur''), the structure was designed to be a windscreen to the rest of the town. ''The Wall'' (french: Le Mur) by Jean-Paul Sartre, a collection of short stories published in 1939 containing the eponymous story "The Wall", is considered one of the author's greatest existentialist works of fiction. Sartre dedicated the book to his companion Olga Kosakiewicz, a former student of Simone de Beauvoir. "The Wall" The eponymous story coldly depicts a situation in which prisoners are condemned to death. Written in 1939, the story is set in the Spanish Civil War, which began July 18, 1936, and ended April 1, 1939, when the Nationalists (known in Spanish as the ''Nacionalistas''), led by General Francisco Franco, overcame the forces of the Spanish Republic and entered Madrid. The title refers to the wall used by firing squads to execute prisoners. The Wall itself symbolises the inevitability and unknowing of one's death. ''The Wall'' (french: Le Mur) is a 1967 French drama film directed by Serge Roullet and based on the short story of the same name by Jean-Paul Sartre, who also wrote the dialogue for the film. It was entered into the 17th Berlin International Film Festival. Plot During the Spanish Civil War, three men are arrested and imprisoned by General Franco's troops. Pablo is a worker and an associate of the anarchist leader Ramón, who is in hiding; Tom is an English member of the International Brigades; and Juan, still a teenager, is the innocent brother of a militant. Sentenced to death, they spend their last night together in a cell. A Belgian doctor is sent to watch over them, but they reject all companionship with him. At dawn the boy and the Englishman are taken out and shot, while Pablo is sent for further interrogation. The story is a surreal satirical allegory of the bi-lingual problems in Belgium. Plot Belgium, 1999. Albert is a 35-year old Walloon philosopher who works as a Belgian fries salesman. His store is located right on the Belgian language border. He serves his customers in Flanders and bakes his fries in Wallonia. Albert fancies the Flemish woman Wendy.
