Le Gardeur, Québec
Le Gardeur was a former town in southwestern Quebec, Canada that is now a district of the city of Repentigny. It was merged with Repentigny as part of the 2002 municipal reorganization in Quebec. It is on the L'Assomption River in the Regional County Municipality of L'Assomption, and connected to Montreal by Route 138, Autoroute 40, and Via Rail on the Canadian National rail line. The rural parish of Saint-Paul-l'Ermite was established in 1856. The municipality of the same name was created in 1973 over part of the original territory. It changed its name to Le Gardeur five years later. (Pierre Le Gardeur, Sieur de Repentigny, was the region's first feudal lord, under letters-patent granted in 1647 to the Compagnie des cent associés.) The parish and its church are still active. Repentigny-Mascouche Line (AMT)
Mascouche (also designated exo5, known during planning as Repentigny–Mascouche) is a commuter railway line in Greater Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is operated by Exo, the organization that operates public transport services across this region. Opened on December 1, 2014, by Exo's predecessor agency, the Agence Métropolitaine de transport (AMT), the Montreal region's sixth commuter train line required the construction of 10 new train stations, several civil engineering structures and 13 km of new railway track. This includes some track in the median of the A 640 between Repentigny and Mascouche. Beginning on May 11, 2020, the Mascouche line was rerouted around the Mount Royal Tunnel, bypassing and stations due to the construction of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM). Rosemere High School (RHS) of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board is a high school located in the town of Rosemère, Québec, Canada. The City and Borough of Juneau, more commonly known simply as Juneau ( ; tli, Dzánti K'ihéeni ), is the capital city of the state of Alaska. Joe Juneau (prospector)
Joseph Juneau (; 1836–1899) was a French Canadian miner and prospector who was born in the Lower Canada town of Saint-Paul-l'Ermite (later renamed Le Gardeur and now incorporated into the city of Repentigny) to François Xavier Juneau dit Latulippe and Marguerite Thiffault Juneau. He is best known for co-founding, with Richard Harris, the city of Juneau, Alaska, United States. The first major gold discovery in Juneau, on Douglas Island (across from Juneau), occurred circa 1880. The city has been the political capital of Alaska since 1900. Juneau's Native American guide in southeastern Alaska was Chief Kowee, who is credited with exploring much of the area later named for Juneau.
