Lazier Partners Racing
Lazier Partners Racing was an American racing team in the IndyCar Series. The team is owned by former driver Bob Lazier, father of Buddy Lazier and Jaques Lazier, along with Corbet Krause, Chris Nielsen, Jason Peters, and others. History Initial plans to race began in February 2012 during a ski trip in Vail, Colorado, but the team could not find a car for the 2012 Indianapolis 500. Lazier Burns Racing (then called Lazier Partners Racing) was formed as a late entry for the 2013 Indianapolis 500. The Dallara DW12 car was a Lotus test chassis bought from Fan Force United for $250,000, who raced in the 2012 Indianapolis 500 with Jean Alesi. The chassis required updates at the Dallara factory in Indianapolis and engines were leased from Chevrolet. Dennis Lacava was hired as the crew chief along with former crew members from Hemelgarn Racing. To make the race, the team spent an estimated half million dollars. Bob Lazier
Robert Lazier (December 22, 1938 – April 18, 2020) was an American race car driver. Biography A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, he raced in the CART series in 1981 and was CART's Rookie of the Year. He had fourth-place finishes at Watkins Glen International and Mexico. Lazier also competed in the 1981 Indianapolis 500, finishing 19th after a blown engine caused him to retire the Penske PC-7 after 154 laps. He was married to wife Diane and was the father of both 1996 Indianapolis 500 winner Buddy Lazier and Indy Racing League driver Jaques Lazier. And Current Indy Lights driver Flinn Lazier Lazier competed in Formula 5000 in the 1970s. In 2015, Lazier won the Indy Legends Charity Pro–Am race with co-driver Jim Caudle. 2013 IndyCar Series Season
The 2013 IZOD IndyCar Series was the 18th season of the IndyCar Series and the 102nd season of American open wheel racing. Its premier event was the 97th Indianapolis 500 held on Sunday, May 26. The 2013 season was the second to feature the Dallara DW12 chassis. Ryan Hunter-Reay entered the season as the defending drivers' champion. Chevrolet entered as the defending Manufacturers' Cup champion. The 2013 season has featured four first-time winners, the most since 1965. Also highlighting the season is the introduction of doubleheader races, and the experimentation with standing starts at selected events. 2016 Indianapolis 500
The 2016 Indianapolis 500 (branded as the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil for sponsorship reasons) took place on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana. It was the premier event of the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series season. In a shocking finish, 24 year-old rookie Alexander Rossi of Andretti Herta Autosport won the race on fuel mileage over Carlos Muñoz and Josef Newgarden. Two-time winner Juan Pablo Montoya entered the race as the defending champion. Over the final ten laps, most of the leaders were cycling through pit stops, as no one was expected to make it to the finish without pitting for fuel. Most drivers had not pitted since the previous caution that ended on lap 166. Alexander Rossi's team took a huge gamble and coached the driver into saving fuel. The 2015 Indianapolis 500 was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana on Sunday May 24, 2015. It was the premier event of the 2015 season of the Verizon IndyCar Series. Juan Pablo Montoya won his second Indianapolis 500, followed in the finish by Will Power, Charlie Kimball, polesitter Scott Dixon, and Graham Rahal. For the second year in a row, the month of May activities opened with the Grand Prix of Indianapolis over May 7–9. Practice opened on May 11, and time trials were held on May 16–17. Robinson graduated from Oldham County High School in Buckner Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University and Campbellsville University.
