Layla Angulo
Layla Angulo, born March 12, 1976, and known professionally by the mononym Layla, is an American saxophonist, composer, singer, band director, and recording artist specializing in Latin music. Layla was born to a Greek mother and an Irish-American father. Her grandfather's upright bass playing inspired her to learn the saxophone at an early age. Layla's first released album, '' Live at The Triple Door'', was recorded at the noted Seattle theater and released in 2005. The album's first single ''Que Te Vaya Bien'' was Top 10 for three months on OurStage and reached semi-finalist position in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC). "La Rumbera"—also from ''Live at the Triple Door''—received ISC Honorable Mention in 2006. The album received warm reviews from Seattle Times and Chip Boaz's Latin Jazz Corner. Saxophonist
The saxophone (often referred to colloquially as the sax) is a type of single-reed woodwind instrument with a conical body, usually made of brass. As with all single-reed instruments, sound is produced when a reed on a mouthpiece vibrates to produce a sound wave inside the instrument's body. The pitch is controlled by opening and closing holes in the body to change the effective length of the tube. The holes are closed by leather pads attached to keys operated by the player. William Omar Landrón Rivera (born February 10, 1978), better known by his stage name Don Omar, is a Puerto Rican reggaeton singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer and actor.
