Lawrence Park (art Historian)
Lawrence Park (December 16, 1873 – September 28, 1924) was an American Art history, art historian, architect, and Genealogy, genealogist who authored pioneering critical and biographical studies of portrait painters Gilbert Stuart, Joseph Badger, and Joseph Blackburn (painter), Joseph Blackburn, active during the colonial and early federal periods of the United States. Park's four-volume treatise on Stuart was published posthumously in 1926. Park's papers are held at the Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library, Winterthur Library and the Frick Art Reference Library. Early life and education Park was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, to parents John Gray Park, a psychiatrist, and Elizabeth Bigelow Lawrence. He attended a private school in Worcester and attended Harvard University from 1892 to 1896 without receiving his degree. Lawrence Park, Toronto
Lawrence Park is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is bordered by Yonge Street to the west and Bayview Avenue to the east, and from Blythwood Ravine on the south to Lawrence Avenue on the north. Lawrence Park was one of Toronto's first planned garden suburbs. Begun in the early part of the 20th century, it did not fully develop until after the Second World War. It was ranked the wealthiest neighbourhood in all of Canada in 2011. Centred on Mount Pleasant Road, the neighbourhood grew slowly with medium-sized houses on narrow but deep lots. There are few commercial businesses within walking distance. The closest grocery stores are close to Yonge and Lawrence. In its early years, the neighbourhood's transportation was served predominantly by the northern section of the Toronto Transportation Commission's Yonge streetcar line. Lawrence Park Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania
Lawrence Park Township is the only first class township in Erie County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,825 at the 2020 census, down from 4,048 at the 2000 census. The 2010 census counted a population of 3,982, for a decline of 1.6% during the decade. The entire township is also listed as a census-designated place. The township was established in 1910 as a company town for General Electric. It was named after , flagship of Oliver Hazard Perry, and her namesake, James Lawrence, commander of during the War of 1812. Lawrence Park Historic District is a national historic district located at Bronxville, Westchester County, New York. The district contains 94 contributing buildings, the majority of which are architecturally or historically significant. Developed in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century on twenty acres of land closely associated with the historical evolution of the surrounding community, the area attracted as residents many prominent artists and writers of the period. The Park structures were built on a wooded hillside, along winding roads. While in close proximity to one another, they achieve a feeling of seclusion and privacy. Few of the houses have had major alterations, and today Lawrence Park retains much of its original character. Lawrence Park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
