Larry Davis (basketball)
Larry Davis (June 3, 1956) is an American men's college basketball coach, most recently serving as the co-associate head coach at the University of Cincinnati. Early life Davis was born in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. After moving to Indiana as a child, he graduated from Wapahani High School in Selma, Indiana in 1974. Following high school, he attended Asbury College, in Wilmore, Kentucky, from which he graduated in 1978. The following year, he enrolled in a graduate program at East Tennessee State University and began his coaching career as a graduate assistant. Before coming to Cincinnati, Davis served as head coach at Furman University from 1997 to 2006 where he compiled a 124–139 record. Coaching career From East Tennessee State, Davis moved on to coach high school teams, first at Cloverport High School, and then Oak Hill Academy, a prep school located at Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. Larry Davis (blues Musician)
Larry Davis (December 4, 1936 – April 19, 1994) was an American electric Texas blues and soul blues musician. He is best known for co-writing the song " Texas Flood", later recorded to greater commercial success by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Biography Davis was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and was raised in England, Arkansas, and Little Rock, Arkansas. He swapped playing the drums to learn to play the bass guitar. In the mid-1950s, he had a working partnership with Fenton Robinson, and following the recommendation of Bobby Bland was given a recording contract by Duke Records. Davis had three singles released, which included " Texas Flood" and "Angels in Houston". Thereafter, he had limited opportunity in the recording studio. He resided in St. Louis, Missouri, for a while, and played bass in Albert King's group. Larry Davis (May 28, 1966 – February 20, 2008), later known as Adam Abdul-Hakeem, was an African–American man from New York City who gained notoriety in November 1986 for his shootout in the South Bronx with officers of the New York City Police Department, in which six officers were shot.
