Lawrence Cheng
Lawrence Cheng Tan-shui (born 28 December 1954) is a Hong Kong film actor, director, screenwriter, producer, and master of ceremonies. He was a Hong Kong DJ and radio channel executive. Cheng became famous after he created the radio drama series ''The Yuppie Fantasia'' (小男人週記) in 1986 which he also starred in. In 1989, he starred in the film adaptation of the series which was directed by Gordon Chan and became a box office hit. Early life Cheng was born in Hong Kong on 27 November 1954. His ancestral hometown is huizhou ( 惠州市), Guangdong province. Having attended secondary school in St. Paul's College, he went to the Baptist College, the top broadcasting school in Hong Kong, and graduated in 1978. Acting career Lawrence Cheng brought his comical slightly nerdish and slightly fantasia film persona into films since the mid-80s. Hong Kong People
Hongkongers (), also known as Hong Kongers, Hong Kongese, Hongkongese, Hong Kong citizens and Hong Kong people, typically refers to residents of the territory of Hong Kong; although may also refer to others who were born and/or raised in the territory. The earliest inhabitants of Hong Kong are indigenous villagers, who have lived in the area since before British colonization. The majority of Hongkongers today are descended from Han Chinese migrants from mainland China, most of whom are Cantonese and trace their ancestral home to the province of Guangdong. However, the territory also holds other Han Chinese subgroups including the Hakka, Hoklo, Teochew (Chiuchow), Shanghainese, Sichuanese and Taiwanese. Meanwhile, non-Han Chinese Hongkongers such as the British, Filipinos, Indonesians, South Asians and Vietnamese also make up six per cent of Hong Kong's population. ''The Third Hand'' is the third studio album by RJD2. It was released on XL Records on March 6, 2007. It peaked at number 190 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart, number 5 on the Heatseekers Albums chart, and number 23 on the Independent Albums chart. ''The Third Hand Instrumentals'', an instrumental version of the album, was also released in 2007. Critical reception At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 60, based on 28 reviews, indicating "mixed or average reviews". Noel Murray of ''The A.V. Club'' gave the album a grade of B−, saying: "About half of ''The Third Hand'' is given over to dub exercises and soundtrack-ready soundscapes, while the other half pushes fairly conventional alt-pop, heavy on the Beatles-esque flourishes."
