The Law Enforcement Conduct Commission is responsible for investigating allegations of serious misconduct by the NSW Police Force and NSW Crime Commission. It was established on 1 July 2017 to replace the Police Integrity Commission The Inspector of the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission is a statutory position which investigates complaints against the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC) in New South Wales, a state of Australia. Police Integrity Commission
The Police Integrity Commission, was a statutory corporation of the New South Wales Government, responsible for the prevention, detection, and investigation of alleged serious misconduct in the Police Force in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The mission of the commission was to be an effective agent in the reduction of serious police misconduct. On 1 July 2017, the Police Integrity Commission was abolished and replaced by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission. The commission was established on 1 July 1996 pursuant to the following the Wood Royal Commission into the New South Wales Police Service. The commission was led by a Commissioner. The Commission initially reported to the Minister for Police and Emergency Services, back then it reported to the Premier of New South Wales. NSW Crime Commission
The New South Wales Crime Commission is a statutory corporation of the Government of New South Wales. It is constituted by the Crime Commission Act 2012, the object of which is to reduce the incidence of organised crime and other serious crime in the state of New South Wales, Australia. In more recent years, the commission has also taken on a charter of assisting with the investigation of terrorism related offences. However, it became the subject of controversy following various allegations relating covert operations, secrecy and absence of defined accountability, and the conviction of an assistant director for serious criminal activities. Terry Buddin
Terry Buddin is presently Inspector of the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission in the state of New South Wales, Australia. From 1995 to 1997, he was Director of Public Prosecutions of the Australian Capital Territory. On 30 January 2002, he was sworn in as a judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He retired from the Court on 16 March 2012. Since 2012 he is a professor at the University of Wollongong School of Law, where he has the title Judge-in-Residence. The Police Association of New South Wales is the industrial association representing over 99 percent of the sworn Police officers in the State of New South Wales, Australia.
