Laurin Braun
Laurin Braun (born 18 February 1991) is a German professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing for Grizzlys Wolfsburg of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). His older brother Constantin Braun Constantin Braun (born March 11, 1988) is a German professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing for and captain of the Bietigheim Steelers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Lampertheim
Lampertheim is a town in the Bergstraße district in Hesse, Germany. In 1984, the town hosted the 24th ''Hessentag'' state festival. DEL2 (also known as DEL II) is the second tier ice hockey league in Germany, below the '' Deutsche Eishockey Liga'' (DEL) and ahead of the '' Oberliga''. Founded in 2013 to replace the defunct '' 2nd Bundesliga'', DEL2 is administered by ESBG, under licence from DEB. History The DEL2 league was founded on 2 May 2013 by Eishockeyliga Betriebsgesellschaft mbH. The foundation of the league was controversial as it was preceded by a long standing dispute between the operator of the second division, Eishockeyspielbetriebsgesellschaft mbH (ESBG), and the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB). In 2011, ESBG refused to sign a cooperation agreement between DEB and DEL citing unacceptable conditions. As a result, DEB withdrew their support of ESBG and promotion and relegation between the DEL and 2nd division was removed. 2018–19 DEL Season
The 2018–19 Deutsche Eishockey Liga season was the 25th season since the founding of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga running from 14 September 2018 to 30 April 2019. All 14 clubs from the previous year and the Löwen Frankfurt applied for a license. The season saw the same teams as last year, as all teams were given their license. After a points-per-game record during the regular season with 2,23 points per game, the Adler Mannheim won the title for their seventh time defeating EHC Red Bull München 4–1 in the finals. Player and staff awards During the season, Danny aus den Birken, goalkeeper of EHC Red Bull München was selected als player of the year and goalie of the year. Philipp Gogulla from Düsseldorfer EG was awarded as forward of the year whereas Joonas Lehtivouri from the Adler Mannheim was elected as defenceman of the year.
