Montreal is one of the administrative regions of the Canadian province of Quebec. It is also a territory equivalent to a regional county municipality (TE) and a census division (CD), for both of which its geographical code is 66. Ruba Ghazal
Ruba Ghazal (born December 6, 1977) is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the National Assembly of Quebec in the 2018 provincial election. She represents the electoral district of Mercier as a member of Québec solidaire. Early life and education Ghazal was born in Beirut, Lebanon to a family of Palestinian refugees. She lived in the United Arab Emirates until she was 10, when her family immigrated to Quebec. She studied at HEC Montréal. Political career Ghazal was a founding member of Québec solidaire in 2006, and was the party's candidate for Laurier-Dorion in the 2007 and 2008 general elections. Outremont was a provincial electoral district in the city of Montreal in Quebec, Canada. It comprised all of the borough of Outremont and parts of the boroughs of Le Plateau-Mont-Royal (part of Mile End), Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (part of Côte-des-Neiges) and a very small part of Ville-Marie. It was created for the 1966 election from parts of Montréal-Outremont and Westmount–Saint-Georges electoral districts. Christos Sirros
Christos Sirros ( el, Χρήστος Σύρρος; born 2 February 1948) is a politician in the Province of Quebec, Canada. He was a member of the National Assembly of Quebec (MNA) for the Laurier-Dorion riding for two decades as a member of the Liberal Party of Quebec. A graduate from McGill University, he first won the Laurier riding in 1981, defeating Parti Québécois (PQ) candidate Nadia Assimopoulos. The riding of Laurier-Dorion was created for the 1994 election, in which Sirros defeated PQ candidate Benoît Henry by 6,930 votes. He was most notably the minister of Indian affairs under Robert Bourassa and minister of natural resources under Daniel Johnson, Jr. He was the National Assembly's first vice-president from June 2003 to July 2004. The Quebec by-elections of September 20, 2004 were held in the Quebec provincial electoral districts of Gouin, Laurier-Dorion, Nelligan and Vanier in Canada.
