Laurent Travini
Laurent Travini (born 24 November 1972 in Gap, Hautes-Alpes) is a former French-born Italian rugby union player. He played as a lock. Travini played all his career in France, but also held Italian citizenship, due to his parents, and decided to represent Italy at international level. He played for Aix Rugby Club, from 1987/88 to 1989/90, having his debut at the first category at Istres Sport Rugby, where he played from 1990/91 to 1991/92. He then would spend five seasons at RC Nîmes, from 1992/93 to 1996/97. He moved then to US Dax, playing there from 1997/98 to 2002/03, and having a final spell at Stade Montois, from 2003/04 to 2008/09, where he finished his career, aged 36 years old. He won the Pro D2 for Stade Montois in 2007/08. Travini had 5 caps for Italy national rugby union team, Italy, from 1999 to 2000, never scoring. 2000 Six Nations Championship
The 2000 Six Nations Championship was the first series of the rugby union Six Nations Championship, following the addition of Italy to the Five Nations. It was the 106th season of the championship overall. The title was won by England. England won their first four games and met winless Scotland in their final match. Scotland earned a surprising victory and denied England the Grand Slam. Italy won their first game in the championship with a surprising 34–20 win over Scotland, who had won the previous year's Five Nations. Italy did not win any of their other games and finished in sixth place. 1999 Rugby World Cup
The 1999 Rugby World Cup was the fourth Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial international rugby union championship. It was principally hosted by Wales, and was won by Australia. This was the first Rugby World Cup to be held in the sport's professional era. Although the majority of matches were played outside Wales (shared between England, France, Scotland and Ireland) the opening ceremony, the first match and the final were held in Cardiff. Four automatic qualification places were available for the 1999 tournament; Wales qualified automatically as hosts, and the other three places went to the top three teams from the previous World Cup in 1995: champions South Africa, runners-up New Zealand and third-placed France. Gap, Hautes-Alpes
Gap (, ) is the prefecture of the Hautes-Alpes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. In 2019, the commune had a population of 40,631, making it the most populated city in Hautes-Alpes. At a height of 750 metres above sea level, to the south of the Écrins Massif, it is also France's highest prefecture.
