Vision Montreal (french: Vision Montréal or VM) was a municipal political party in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was founded in 1994 and dissolved in April 2014. 2009 Montreal Municipal Election
The city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, held a municipal election at the same time as numerous other municipalities in Quebec, on November 1, 2009. Voters elected the Mayor of Montreal, Montreal City Council, and the mayors and councils of each of the city's boroughs. Gaëtan Primeau (born April 16, 1941) was a politician in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He had served on the Montreal city council from 2005 until his defeat in 2013, representing the east-end district of Tétreaultville as a member of Vision Montreal. Early life and career Primeau was born in Montreal. He has a certificate in surveying from ''Collège Ahuntsic'' and a certificate in civil engineering from the ''École Polytechnique de Montréal''. Gérald Tremblay
Gérald Tremblay (born September 20, 1942) is a former Canadian politician and businessman who served as mayor of Montreal from 2002 until his resignation in 2012. He also served as president of the Montreal Metropolitan Community. Before becoming mayor he had a long career in business and management. Tremblay resigned as Mayor on November 5, 2012 following allegations of corruption made at the Charbonneau Commission. Early life and career Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Tremblay grew up in Montreal, where his family moved when he was four years old. His parents, Georges Albert Tremblay, a notary, and Rollande Forest, had four boys: Michel, Gérald, Marcel, and François. Jean Doré
Jean Doré (12 December 1944 – 15 June 2015) was a Canadian politician and mayor of the City of Montreal, Quebec. Background Doré studied law at the Université de Montréal, where he was president of the student union from 1967 to 1968. He received a Master's Degree of Political Science from McGill University. In the early seventies Doré became a founding member of the progressive '' Montreal Citizens' Movement (MCM)'', also known as ''Rassemblement des citoyens et citoyennes de Montréal'' (RCM) in French, where he started as treasurer and eventually became party leader in 1982. Mercier, Montreal
Mercier denotes the eastern portion of the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough of the city of Montreal, Quebec. It consists of two neighbourhoods Mercier-Ouest (''Longue-Pointe'') and Mercier-Est (''Tétreaultville''). History Mercier was named after Honoré Mercier (1840–1894), Premier of Quebec from 1887 to 1891. Urbanization began in 1890, and the western portion, Longue-Pointe, become an industrial area by the early 20th century.
