Laurelhurst is a residential neighborhood in Seattle, Washington, USA. It is bounded on the northeast by Ivanhoe Place N.E., beyond which is Windermere, Seattle, Washington, Windermere; on the northwest by Sand Point Way N.E. and N.E. 45th Street, beyond which are Hawthorne Hills, Seattle, Washington, Hawthorne Hills, Ravenna, Seattle, Washington, Ravenna, and University Village, Seattle, Washington, University Village; on the west by Mary Gates Memorial Drive N.E., beyond which is the East Campus of the University of Washington; on the southwest by Union Bay (Seattle, Washington), Union Bay; and on the east by Lake Washington. Lauraceae, or the laurels, is a plant family that includes the true laurel and its closest relatives. This family comprises about 2850 known species in about 45 genera worldwide (Christenhusz & Byng 2016 ). They are dicotyledons, and occur mainly in warm temperate and tropical regions, especially Southeast Asia and South America. Wallingford (also known as North Lake Union by Seattle OGs in the know) is a neighborhood in north central Seattle, lying on a hill above the north shore of Lake Union about four miles from the downtown core. Michael Andrew "Duff" McKagan (born February 5, 1964), sometimes credited as Duff "Rose" McKagan, is an American musician. He played bass for twelve years in the hard rock band Guns N' Roses, with whom he achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Laurelhurst Park (Seattle)
Laurelhurst Park is a city park in the neighborhood of Laurelhurst in Portland, Oregon. The park was acquired in 1909 from the estate of former Portland mayor William S. Ladd. The City of Portland purchased the land in 1911, and the following year park superintendent Emanuel Mische designed the park in accordance with the Olmsted Plan. In 1919, the Pacific Coast Parks Association named Laurelhurst Park the "most beautiful park" on the West Coast, and in February 2001 it was the first city park ever to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Duwamish People
The Duwamish ( lut, Dxʷdəwʔabš, ) are a Lushootseed-speaking Native American tribe in western Washington, and the indigenous people of metropolitan Seattle, where they have been living since the end of the last glacial period (c. 8000 BCE, 10,000 years ago). The Duwamish Tribe descends from at least two distinct groups from before intense contact with people of European ancestry—the ''People of the Inside'' (the environs of Elliott Bay) and the ''People of the Large Lake'' ( Lake Washington)—and continues to evolve both culturally and ethnically.
