''Laura Lansing Slept Here'' is a 1988 American made-for-television comedy film starring Katharine Hepburn and directed by George Schaefer which premiered on NBC on March 7, 1988. It was written by James Prideaux and co-stars Joel Higgins, Karen Austin, Brenda Forbes and Hepburn's grandniece Schuyler Grant. Plot Hepburn stars as Laura Lansing, a wealthy, world-famous pampered novelist who faces the crisis of her career when her publisher rejects her latest book. Faced with retirement, she makes a bet to prove that she has not lost touch with her readers: she will live with a middle-class family in the suburbs for seven days or give up writing forever. In the home of Walter and Melody Gomphers, Lansing turns the family's life upside down with her outlandish behavior. James Prideaux
James Prideaux (August 29, 1927 – November 18, 2015) was an American playwright known for ''The Last of Mrs. Lincoln''. Prideaux was born in 1927 as James Priddy in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Lloyd Priddy, a professional photographer, and Beulah Shirey. Wanting to become an actor, he adopted a new name and relocated to Chicago and then New York, but found his metier as a writer. He wrote for magazines such as ''Playboy'' and the ''Ladies Home Journal'' and joined the Barr-Wilder-Albee Playwrights Unit, a theater workshop. For ''The Last of Mrs Lincoln,'' he won the Drama Desk Award, Drama Desk Award for Most Promising Playwright in 1973. He also wrote ''Postcards'', ''Lemonade'', and ''The Orphans''. Schuyler DeBarthe Ranson Grant (born April 29, 1970) is an American former actress best known for playing Diana Barry in ''Anne of Green Gables'' (1985) and for other supporting roles in television. Education Grant graduated from Columbia University, where she met her husband, Jeff Krasno, in 1993. Family Grant is the daughter of Jack Grant and Ann Grant. She has one brother, Jason Grant.
