Laura Ester Ramos (born 22 January 1990 in Barcelona) is a Spanish water polo goalkeeper. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed for the Spain women's national water polo team in the women's event, winning the silver medal. She also competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She is 5 ft 7 inches tall. Water Polo
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles. It is typically played in an all-deep pool where players cannot touch the bottom. A game consists mainly of the players swimming to move about the pool, treading water (mainly using the eggbeater kick), passing the ball, and shooting at the goal. 2022 Women's European Water Polo Championship
The 2022 Women's European Water Polo Championship was the 19th running of the tournament. It was held in the Spaladium Arena in Split, Croatia from 27 August to 10 September 2022. Spain won their third title by defeating Greece in the final, while Italy captured the bronze medal with a win over the Netherlands. The 2023 FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup was the 18th edition of the tournament. It ran from 11 April to 25 June 2023. The Super final took place between 23 and 25 June 2023 in Long Beach, United States. From this year on, the tournament was replacing the FINA Water Polo World League.
