Laughing Down Crying
''Laughing Down Crying'' is the fifth solo album by American recording artist Daryl Hall. It was released on September 27, 2011, on Verve Records. Co-producer and bandmate T-Bone Wolk died during early recording sessions for the disc; Hall dedicated the record to him. Hall debuted the album on a two-part episode of his series ''Live from Daryl's House''. Track listing * All tracks written and composed by Daryl Hall except as noted. Singles The lead single, "Talking To You (Is Like Talking To Myself)", reached number 16 on the Adult Contemporary chart on the November 12, 2011 issue, it stayed there for two weeks and remained on the chart for twenty weeks and it was the most successful song of the album. Daryl Hall
Daryl Franklin Hohl (born October 11, 1946), known professionally as Daryl Hall, is an American rock, R&B and soul singer and musician, best known as the co-founder and principal lead vocalist of Daryl Hall and John Oates (with guitarist and songwriter John Oates). Outside of his work in Hall & Oates, he has also released five solo albums, including the 1980 progressive rock collaboration with guitarist Robert Fripp titled ''Sacred Songs'' and the 1986 album ''Three Hearts in the Happy Ending Machine'', which provided his best selling single, "Dreamtime", that peaked at number five on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Electric Lady Studios
Electric Lady Studios is a recording studio in Greenwich Village, New York City. It was commissioned by rock musician Jimi Hendrix in 1968 and designed by architect John Storyk and audio engineer Eddie Kramer by 1970. Hendrix spent only ten weeks recording in Electric Lady before his death that year, but it quickly became a famed studio used by many top-selling recording artists from the 1970s onwards, including Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, and David Bowie. At the turn of the 21st century, Electric Lady served as a home for the innovative Soulquarians collective, but fell into financial hardship and disarray in the 2000s. Everett Bradley is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, actor, dancer, choreographer and playwright. He is currently a touring member of the rock band Bon Jovi. Charles DeChant (born June 10, 1945) is an American saxophone and keyboard player known for his association with Hall & Oates. Career Born in Florida on June 10, 1945, DeChant has been playing in the band since 1976. Notable saxophone solos are heard in the Hall & Oates songs " One on One", " Maneater," the extended version of " Say It Isn't So," and "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)." Mickey Curry
Michael Timothy Curry (born June 10, 1956) is an American musician. He has collaborated with singer-songwriter Bryan Adams since the early 1980s, but has also worked with Hall & Oates, Cher, Tina Turner, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Sam Phillips, Tom Waits, Survivor, The Cult and Steve Jones. Early life Mickey Curry was born in New Haven, Connecticut. He started playing drums at age 11 under the tutelage of Nick Forte. When he was 13, he and two of his brothers formed a band called The Rack. At age 17, he joined the Scratch Band in Connecticut. The ''Billboard'' 200 is a record chart ranking the 200 most popular music albums and EPs in the United States.
