Laudomia Bonanni
Laudomia Bonanni (8 December 1907 – 21 February 2002) was an Italian writer and journalist. Although she started publishing when she was a teenager, her literary career took off in 1948 when she won a national contest; she went on to be a prolific and award-winning author. The Nobel laureate Eugenio Montale compared her realism to James Joyce’s ''Dubliners'', and other distinguished critics considered her one of the most important and original voices in Italy’s post-World War II literature. Biography Laudomia Bonanni was born in 1907 in L'Aquila, the capital city of the mountainous Abruzzo region of Central Italy, located about 60 miles northeast of Rome. Her parents were Giovanni, a musician turned coal merchant, and Amelia Perilli, a primary school teacher. Alfredo Lucio Esposito, also known under the pseudonym of Alfredo Fiorani (December 13, 1953 – February 29, 2016), was an Italian poet, writer, essayist and Intellectual, man of letters. Enrico Falqui
Enrico Falqui (12 October 1901 – 16 March 1974) was an Italian writer and literary critic. Biography Enrico Falqui was born in Frattamaggiore, a small market town on the northern fringes of Naples. Gaetano and Angelina Carlomagno Falqui, his parents, were originally from Sardinia. While he was still young the family relocated to Rome, where he grew up and embarked on a career as a literary critic. It becomes evident from autobiographical pieces that he was haunted by his lack of formal academic qualifications. Nevertheless, when "La Fiera Letteraria" transferred from Milan to Rome and was relaunched as "L'Italia Letteraria" in 1929, Falqui, still aged only 28, was installed as editor-in-chief under the directorship of Giovanni Battista Angioletti and Umberto Fracchia. It has been awarded annually since 1947 for the best work of prose fiction written in the Italian language by an author of any nationality and first published between 1 May of the previous year and 30 April.
