''Emmerdale'' is a British soap opera first broadcast on 16 October 1972. The following is a list of characters that first appeared in the show in 2001, by order of first appearance. All characters were introduced by series producer Steve Frost. Latisha Wilder
Latisha Wilder (born January 1, 1975) is a professional figure competitor from the United States. Ever since her first visit to the Arnold Classic Weekend in 1998, she decided that fitness was her calling and competed in her first figure show a year later. And ever since turning pro in 2003 at the 2003 NPC Figure National Championships, she has become one of the rising figure competitors in the sport of figure competition. In just two years as a pro she has achieved two runner-up spots at the Pittsburgh Pro and Palm Beach Pro, and two top-fives at the Figure International. Though not competing in figure competitions currently, Wilder is still working as fitness trainer. She also coaches for a high school cross country program and girls' track program at Upper Arlington High School in Upper Arlington, Ohio, having previously coached at the middle school level. Latisha Chan (born 17 August 1989), formerly known by her Chinese name Chan Yung-jan (; ), is a Taiwanese tennis player who is a former world No. 1 in doubles. She has won 33 career titles in doubles, including a Grand Slam title at the 2017 US Open alongside Martina Hingis, as well as nine at WTA 1000-level. Chan also finished runner-up at three other Grand Slam events, the 2007 and 2015 Australian Open, and the 2007 US Open.
