Late Night Tales Presents After Dark
''Late Night Tales Presents After Dark'' is a DJ mix album by Bill Brewster for ''Late Night Tales'' series, released by Night Time Stories on 5 May 2013. The album is the first edition of ''After Dark'' spinoff series. It diverges from ''Late Night Tales usual format of loosely themed and artist-curated mixes and is more of a DJ-led club-oriented mix which includes 70's disco and funk and contemporary house. It features songs and remixes from I:Cube, Jamiroquai, Padded Cell, Zed Bias, François Kevorkian along with some unreleased cuts. Brewster described ''After Dark'' as "dance music for people who know how to make love" while The Vinyl Factory’s Anton Spice called Brewster "a musical polymath” and wrote that “it’s clear the After Dark series was practically invented around Brewster’s bag of nocturnal downtempo electronica." Bill Brewster (DJ)
Bill Brewster is a British writer and disc jockey. Brewster co-wrote the book '' Last Night a DJ Saved My Life'' with Frank Broughton. The duo also launched and run Djhistory.com. In 2002, his mix album, ''Praxis'', was released on Hooj Choons. Brewster was born in Grimsby, and later edited ''Mixmag USA''. François Kevorkian (born 10 January 1954), also known by the stage name François K, is a French-born, U.S.-based DJ, producer, remixer and label owner of Armenian descent, who started his career DJing in clubs such as the Paradise Garage and Studio 54. Asha Puthli is a singer-songwriter, producer, and actress born on February 4, 1945 and raised in Bombay, India. She has recorded solo albums for EMI, CBS/Sony, and RCA. Her recordings cover blues, pop, rock, soul, funk, disco, and techno and have been produced by Del Newman and Teo Macero. Early life Puthli was born into a Hindu family. She is a niece of Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay. Her father was a businessman, and her mother was a homemaker. Doves (band)
Doves are an English indie rock band formed in Manchester. The band is composed of twin brothers Jez Williams (guitar, vocals) and Andy Williams (drums, vocals), and Jimi Goodwin (bass, vocals, guitar). Additionally, the band employs Martin Rebelski, as a touring and session musician on keyboards. The band released four studio albums between 2000 and 2009, two of which reached #1 on the UK album charts. A compilation album, '' The Places Between: The Best of Doves'', was released in April 2010. Doves went on hiatus in 2010. Linus Loves
Linus Loves is the alias of Scottish dance music remixer/ producer Duncan Reid and, until 2005, a duo consisting of himself and Kevin McKay. Reid and McKay co-founded Breastfed Recordings together in 2002 with Myles MacInnes, known as Mylo. McKay left the outfit in 2005, and Reid has continued using the moniker until the present day. The outfit is best known for their 2003 hit single "Stand Back", with vocals by Sam Obernik. It is a cover version of the 1983 Stevie Nicks' song. The track peaked at number 31 on the UK Singles Chart in November 2003.
