Late Moderne Architecture
Late Moderne is a phase of Moderne architecture as defined by the National Register of Historic Places. Style The Late Moderne style incorporates elements of both the Streamline Moderne and International styles. The first examples could be seen in the late 1930s, however, late Moderne reached its zenith in large-scale government and commercial buildings during the late 1950s and the 1960s. The style can be detected by several trademark features, such as the bezeled window, where a protruding flange resembling a bezel incorporates and outlines groups of windows. Often the single material and color of the walls and any structural projections contrasts with the frames (or other surrounds) of windows, but not using brickwork or stucco window dressings as in baroque and high classical. Moderne architecture, also sometimes referred to as Style Moderne or simply Moderne, Jazz Age, Moderne, jazz modern or jazz style, describes certain styles of architecture popular from 1925 through the 1940s. closely allied to Art Deco. Belfast is a city in Waldo County, Maine, in the United States. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 6,938. Hollywood Boulevard is a major east–west street in Los Angeles, California. Old Pasadena, often referred to as Old Town Pasadena or just Old Town, is the original commercial center of Pasadena, a city in California, United States, and had a latter-day revitalization after a period of decay. Bullock's Pasadena, in Pasadena, California, is a 240,000-square foot (21 368 m²) Late Moderne architectural style building. Built in 1947, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
