LateLine
''Lateline'' was an Australian television news program which ran from 1990 until 2017. The program initially aired weeknights on ABC TV. In later years it was also broadcast internationally throughout Asia and the Pacific on the Australia Plus Satellite Network, and on the 24-hour ABC News Channel. The flagship current affairs program developed a longstanding reputation for setting the agenda of the following days' news across the continent. It was well known to feature head-to-head debates on current issues, hard hitting political interviews, and attracted the appearance of many world leaders in industry, politics and media. It was labelled by the influential Australian online website Crikey magazine as being, "an unmissable current affairs program that almost certainly creates more headlines in the next day's newspapers than any other TV show in the country." Emma Alberici
Emma Alberici (born 3 February 1970) is an Australian journalist and former foreign correspondent who was the chief economics correspondent for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's television network. Alberici was until 2017 the presenter of ABC TV's flagship current affairs program, ''Lateline''. She has been a foreign correspondent for the ABC. She previously worked as a reporter for the ABC's '' The 7.30 Report'' and ''Lateline'', and was also a reporter and producer with ''A Current Affair'' on Australia's Nine Network. Early life and education Emma Alberici was born to Franco and Anna Alberici. Her parents are Italian immigrants who arrived in Australia by passenger liner in 1955. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is the national broadcaster of Australia. It is principally funded by direct grants from the Australian Government and is administered by a government-appointed board. The Logie Awards (officially the TV Week Logie Awards; colloquially known as The Logies) is an annual gathering to celebrate Australian television, sponsored and organised by the magazine ''TV Week''. Walkley Awards
The annual Walkley Awards are presented in Australia to recognise and reward excellence in journalism. They cover all media including print, television, documentary, radio, photographic and online media. The Gold Walkley is the highest prize and is chosen from all category winners. The awards are under the administration of the Walkley Foundation for Journalism. The Nikon Photography Prizes are also awarded by the Walkley Foundation at the awards ceremony, on behalf of Nikon. History The awards were instituted in five categories in 1956 by businessman Sir William Walkley, founder of Ampol. Ticky Fullerton (born 2 November 1963) is an English-born Australian journalist and TV presenter. Fullerton has hosted '' The Business'' on ABC News 24, ''Ticky'' on Sky News Business Channel and Your Money. She was previously a fill-in presenter of ''Lateline.'' Personal life Fullerton grew up in Surrey, England, and has three siblings. She took a law degree at Magdalen College, University of Oxford, graduating in 1985. At Oxford she was a contemporary of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. After graduation she became an associate director with Credit Suisse First Boston, working in London. She then worked for Credit Suisse First Boston in Sydney, raising capital for businesses and government. She currently lives in Sydney with one son.
