Latavius Murray
Latavius Rashard Murray (born January 18, 1990) is an American football running back for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at UCF Knights football, UCF and was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He was also a member of the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, and Baltimore Ravens. Early years Born in Titusville, Florida, Murray attended Onondaga Central High School in Onondaga, New York, where he was a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and track. In high school football, football, Murray was All-league and All-Central New York selection in three straight seasons. 2016 Pro Bowl
The 2016 Pro Bowl (branded as the 2016 Pro Bowl presented by USAA for sponsorship reasons) was the National Football League's all-star game for the 2015 season, which was played at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 31, 2016. As of 2022, this was the last time the Pro Bowl was held in Hawaii. Reception (American Football)
In gridiron football, a reception, also known informally as a catch, is part of a passing play in which a player in bounds successfully catches (receives) a forward pass thrown from a friendly quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. After making the catch, the receiver will then proceed to run towards the opposing end zone carrying the ball and try to score a touchdown, unless the play ends due to him being downed or forced out of bounds. Yardage gained from the passing play are credited to the catcher as his receiving yards. If the pass is not caught by anyone, it is called an incomplete pass or simply an "incompletion". If the pass is caught by an opposing player, it is called an interception. New York State Sportswriters Association
The New York State Sportswriters Association (NYSSWA), founded in 1967, is a source of reference information and statistics about scholastic athletics in the state. Begun by sportswriters Larry Serrell of the Schenectady Daily Gazette and Chuck Korbar of the Buffalo Evening News, NYSSWA membership grew from 12 in 1967 to 246 in 1971 and over 500 annual subscribers by 1995, according to the organization. The active readership includes newspapers, radio and television stations in the state, as well as high school coaches and administrators, college sports coaches and the parents of athletes. The organization's biggest undertaking is the eight-page newsletter that is published 50 times a year. The NYSSWA publishes weekly team rankings in all major sports and also selects all-state teams in soccer, basketball, football, baseball, and softball. The Gatorade Player of the Year awards are given annually to up and coming high school student-athletes in the United States. They are given for boys' baseball, boys' and girls' basketball, boys' and girls' cross country, boys' football, boys' and girls' soccer, boys' and girls' track & field, girls' softball, and girls' volleyball. A "State Player of the Year" award is given to the best student-athlete in each of the twelve sports in the District of Columbia and each of the fifty states, where each sport is recognized as an interscholastic sport. The 2013 NFL Draft was the 78th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible football players.
