Lashburn is a town in Saskatchewan, Canada. It is located 35 km (22 miles) east of Lloydminster and 107 km (66 miles) west of North Battleford on the Yellowhead Highway, on the banks of the Battle River. Saskatchewan Highway 16
Highway 16 is a provincial highway in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It is the Saskatchewan section of the Yellowhead Highway, and also the Trans-Canada Highway Yellowhead section. The main purpose of this highway is to connect Saskatchewan with Canadian cities such as Edmonton and Winnipeg. The highway runs from the Alberta boundary in Lloydminster (50th Avenue or Highway 17) to the Manitoba boundary near Marchwell. Major cities it passes through are Saskatoon, North Battleford in the central part of the province, Yorkton in the far east and Lloydminster to the far west. Part of the highway is a divided four-lane limited-access road that runs from the Alberta-Saskatchewan border to just west of the village of Bradwell, with the remaining part to the Manitoba border being an undivided two-lane highway. Henry Bonli
Henry Thomas Bonli (8 August 1927 – 16 May 2011) was a Canadian painter and interior designer. Early years Henry Thomas Bonli was born in Lashburn, Saskatchewan, on 8 August 1927, son of Tom and Esther Bonli. He grew up in a large family. He attended Dover rural school and Melfort Collegiate. He obtained a teaching certificate at Saskatoon Normal School (later the Saskatoon Teachers' College) in 1947. At this school he was encouraged to paint by Wynona Mulcaster, and made a mural of the prairies named ''Open Spaces''. Bonli taught in a rural school for a short period. He then became a teacher in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan until 1950, when he began to study art. Bonli married Elsa Pederson (born 6 September 1930), daughter of Danish parents who immigrated to Saskatchewan in 1927. Lloydminster is a city in Canada which has the unusual geographic distinction of straddling the provincial border between Alberta and Saskatchewan. The city is incorporated by both provinces as a single city with a single municipal administration. History Intended to be an exclusively British utopian settlement centred on the idea of sobriety, Lloydminster was founded in 1903 by the Barr Colonists, who came directly from the United Kingdom. At a time when the area was still part of the North-West Territories, the town was located astride the Fourth Meridian of the Dominion Land Survey. This meridian was intended to coincide with the 110° west longitude, although the imperfect surveying methods of the time led to the surveyed meridian being placed a few hundred metres (yards) west of this longitude.
