Las Vegas Wranglers (baseball) Players
The Las Vegas Wranglers were a professional ice hockey team based in Las Vegas Valley. The Wranglers were members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the ECHL (formerly the East Coast Hockey League). The Wranglers were founded as an expansion franchise in 2003 following the ECHL's takeover of the West Coast Hockey League. In May 2014, the team suspended operations for the 2014–15 ECHL season, allowing it time to secure a new home arena. In 2015, the team withdrew from the ECHL after being unable to find a home arena for the 2015-16 season. The Wranglers won many accolades over their time in the league. They have the highest winning percentage in ECHL history and hold six other ECHL records. The Las Vegas Valley is a major metropolitan area in the Southern Nevada, southern part of the U.S. state of Nevada, and the second largest in the Southwestern United States. West Coast Hockey League
The West Coast Hockey League was a professional minor ice hockey league active in the western United States from 1995 to 2003. The number of teams ranged from six to nine. The teams were located in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada and Washington. The surviving teams of the West Coast Hockey League are part of the ECHL. 2009–10 ECHL Season
The 2009–10 ECHL season was the List of ECHL seasons, 22nd season of the ECHL. It ran from October, 2009 until April, 2010, followed by the 2010 Kelly Cup playoffs, Kelly Cup playoffs which lasted until May 21, 2010 as the Cincinnati Cyclones won their second Kelly Cup championship in three years by defeating the Idaho Steelheads in five games. Tyler Sloan
Tyler Sloan (born March 15, 1981) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. An undrafted player, Sloan spent seven years in the minor leagues before making his National Hockey League debut for the Washington Capitals in his hometown of Calgary against the Flames. Playing career Sloan played junior hockey for the Calgary Royals of the Alberta Junior Hockey League and Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League. Though undrafted, he was signed by the Columbus Blue Jackets and assigned to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League at the end of the 2001–02 season. Sloan spent the next seven seasons bouncing around the minors, playing for the Dayton Bombers and Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL, as well as the AHL's Manitoba Moose and Hershey Bears. Tyson Strachan
Tyson Strachan (born October 30, 1984) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He most recently played for the Cardiff Devils in the EIHL. He was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the fifth round, 137th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career He played at Ohio State University for four seasons (2003–07), and with the Albany River Rats in the American Hockey League in 2006-07 for one game, before joining the Peoria Rivermen ( AHL) and Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL) in 2007-08. He was signed as a free agent by the St. Louis Blues on October 9, 2008. Dany Sabourin
Dany Sabourin (born September 2, 1980) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former goaltender. Playing career Drafted in the fourth round, 108th overall by the Calgary Flames in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, he played four games with Calgary before moving to the Pittsburgh Penguins. In 2006, he was awarded the Baz Bastien Memorial Trophy as top goaltender in the AHL after achieving 30 wins in 49 games with Pittsburgh's AHL farm team in Wilkes-Barre. Adam Pardy (born March 29, 1984) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He played in the National Hockey League for the Calgary Flames, Dallas Stars, Buffalo Sabres, Winnipeg Jets, Edmonton Oilers, Nashville Predators. He also played in the Swedish Hockey League for Frölunda HC. He was selected by the Calgary Flames in the sixth round, 173rd overall, at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Brent Krahn
Brent Krahn (born April 2, 1982) is a Canadians, Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He was drafted ninth overall by the Calgary Flames in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft and played a single game in the National Hockey League for the Dallas Stars. Playing career Brent Krahn enjoyed a very successful junior hockey career with the Western Hockey League, WHL's Calgary Hitmen before being drafted in the first round by Calgary in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. The Henry Brabham Cup is the trophy awarded annually by the ECHL to the team that finishes with the most points in the league during the regular season. The Brabham Cup has been awarded 33 times to 16 different franchises since its debut in 1989. 2012 Kelly Cup Playoffs
The 2012 Kelly Cup Playoffs of the ECHL started on April 2, 2012 following the end of the 2011–12 ECHL season, 2011–12 ECHL regular season. The playoff format remains unchanged from that of the 2011 Kelly Cup playoffs, 2011 postseason. 15 teams qualified for the playoffs, being the top seven teams from the Western Conference and the top eight teams from the Eastern Conference. Kelly Cup
The Patrick J. Kelly Cup goes to the playoff champion of the ECHL. The Kelly Cup has been awarded to teams since 1997. Prior to 1997, the playoff winner was awarded the Riley Cup, named after former American Hockey League president Jack Riley. The current cup is named after Patrick J. Kelly, the league's first commissioner. The cup is loaned to the winning team for one year and is returned at the start of the following year's playoffs, although the trophy itself has been replaced three times with the first two iterations preserved in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
