Las Vegas Neon
The Sacramento Capitals were a team in World TeamTennis that competed from 1988 through 2013. The Capitals won six championships, including four straight from 1997 to 2000. The other titles came in 2002 and 2007. For the 2012 World TeamTennis season, the team returned to play its home matches at Capitals Stadium at Sunrise Mall. In previous years, they called the following venues home: The Westfield Galleria at Roseville, Gold River Racquet Club in Gold River, and the original ARCO Arena in the Natomas area. Move to Las Vegas On February 4, 2014, the Capitals, after 28 seasons in Sacramento, announced their move to Las Vegas. The team was renamed the Las Vegas Neon. The new Las Vegas team was shut down a few weeks later, before it even started after owner Deepal Wannakuwatte was arrested for running a Ponzi scheme. World TeamTennis
World TeamTennis (WTT) is a mixed-gender professional tennis league played with a team format in the United States, which was founded in 1973. The league's season normally takes place in the summer months. Players from the ATP and WTA take a break from their tour schedules to partake in World TeamTennis. WTT was the first professional sports league to grant equal status to each man and woman competing for their teams. A Ponzi scheme (, ) is a form of fraud that lures investors and pays profits to earlier investors with funds from more recent investors. KOVR (channel 13) is a television station licensed to Stockton, California, United States, broadcasting the CBS network to the Sacramento area. It is owned and operated by the network's CBS News and Stations division alongside CW affiliate KMAX-TV (channel 31). Both stations share studios on KOVR Drive in West Sacramento, while KOVR's transmitter is located in Walnut Grove, California. KOVR began broadcasting in September 1954 from studios in Stockton and a transmitter atop Mount Diablo. Natomas is a community in northwestern Sacramento, in the U.S. state of California.
