Nayarit (), officially the Free and Sovereign State of Nayarit ( es, Estado Libre y Soberano de Nayarit), is one of the 31 states that, along with Mexico City, comprise the Federal Entities of Mexico. Compostela is the name of both a municipality and of a town in it that serves as the seat; both are in the Mexican state of Nayarit. Chacala
Chacala is a beach-town set in small cove on the Pacific coast of Mexico in the State of Nayarit. It is located near pueblo Las Varas and about north of Puerto Vallarta. Rincón de Guayabitos (also known simply as Guayabitos) is a popular beach resort area located in the municipality of Compostela, in the Mexican state of Nayarit. The resort area occupies about two km of beachfront and is a popular vacation places due to its gentle waves and proximity to the cities of Tepic and Guadalajara. La Peñita de Jaltemba, commonly called La Peñita, is a small beach town in Nayarit, Mexico, with a population of approximately 20,000 inhabitants. It is located on Jaltemba Bay, 64 kilometers north of Puerto Vallarta at kilometer 90 on Mexico Highway 200. The surrounding area is noted for pineapple, banana, mango, and other fruit production. The main street, or "La Avenida" as it is known, runs east–west from the highway to the beach and has a central boulevard lined with palm trees and benches.
