Las Plumas High School
Las Plumas High School (LP) is located in the north valley in Oroville, California, United States, about 70 miles north of Sacramento. The school was established in the autumn of 1961. The class of 1965 was the first class to go from freshmen to seniors at the school. Its main sports rival is Oroville High School. Location The school is situated north of the small farming community of Palermo, located just south of Oroville. Both Table Mountain and the Sutter Buttes can be seen from the school, as well as the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The school has a large, spread-out campus that is dominated by open fields in the southern part. In the center of the campus is the quad, where most of the school's activity takes place. The quad is regularly decorated by several clubs and is maintained by many student organizations. Oroville High School is a public high school located in the rural north valley at the base of the Sierra Nevada foothills, about seventy miles north of Sacramento, California, United States. Founded in 1892, Oroville High School is the oldest high school in the district. The campus covers . Of the 46 classrooms on campus, five have full functioning computer labs. The campus also has two computer labs and a library. In 2003, a school bond for $8,523,932 was passed, allowing for the construction of a new library, a science wing, and an industrial technology center. These funds were intended to convert older buildings on campus to an art building, a center for performing arts, and a more modern gymnasium. Despite the money set aside, all of these projects were shelved due to the extreme financial situation of the school district. The Northern California Band Association (NCBA) provides judging for marching band competitions in Northern/Central California and northern Nevada. These competitions may include Marching band#Field marching, field, Marching band#Street marching, street, concert, jazz, and Marching percussion, percussion venues. The NCBA was established in 1990-1991 by music directors in Northern California to provide an organization that could judge the many diverse marching band competitions that were being run by independent organizations. Marysville is a city and the county seat of Yuba County, California, located in the Gold Country region of Northern California.
