Lars Van Der Haar
Lars van der Haar (born 23 July 1991 in Amersfoort, Netherlands) is a Dutch professional cyclo-cross and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team . Career Van der Haar joined the development team of the professional squad, for the 2014 season. He was subsequently promoted to the senior team for the 2015 season. Personal life In July 2019, he married fellow cyclist Lucy Garner. Amersfoort
Amersfoort () is a city and municipality in the province of Utrecht, Netherlands, about 20 km from the city of Utrecht and 40 km south east of Amsterdam. As of 1 December 2021, the municipality had a population of 158,531, making it the second-largest of the province and fifteenth-largest of the country. The Flandriencross is a cyclo-cross race held since 2002 in Hamme, Belgium, until 2013 it was known as the Bollekescross but was renamed in 2014 in honour of Greg Van Avermaet who was raised in Hamme and is a multiple times winner of the Flandrien of the Year award. Ronde Van Overijssel
Ronde van Overijssel ( en, Tour of Overijssel) is an elite men's road bicycle racing event held annually in Overijssel, Netherlands and sanctioned by the Royal Dutch Cycling Union. The event is UCI 1.2 rated, and is part of the UCI Europe Tour. In 2012, the race was expanded to two days for its 60th anniversary, but reverted to a single-day race in 2013. Tour d'Azerbaïdjan was a 2.1 multi-stage bicycle race of the UCI Europe Tour, which took place in Azerbaijan around May between 2012 and 2017. Each day, participants started on a new phase of the race. The race was held in 7 regions of Azerbaijan and finished in the capital, Baku. Other large cities the race moved through were Oguz, Chamakh, Maraza, Ismayilli, Gabala, Sheki. 2012 tour From 9 to 13 May 2012 the international cycling tour in memory of Heydar Aliyev was held. The tournament was a logical continuation of the last year's event, "Big Caucasus". But unlike its predecessor, it consisted of five stages, and became the first professional cycle event in the history of independent Azerbaijan. The ''Leicester Mercury'' is a British regional newspaper for the city of Leicester and the neighbouring counties of Leicestershire and Rutland. The paper began in the 19th century as the ''Leicester Daily Mercury'' and later changed to its present title. Early history The paper was founded by James Thompson, already proprietor of the ''Leicester Chronicle'' which he had merged with the ''Leicestershire Mercury'' ten years earlier. Lucy May van der Haar (née Garner; born 20 September 1994) is a British former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2013 and 2020 for the , and teams. Van der Haar is a double junior world road race champion, winning in consecutive years, in 2011 and 2012. Career Early life Van der Haar grew up in Cosby, Leicestershire. Her first cycling club was the Leicestershire Road Club. Competing with them from 2004 to 2012, she won many National Awards from both the British Schools Cycling Association and British Cycling. She remained in full-time education until 2012, when she left Countesthorpe Community College having completed her AS-levels. Amateur career Van der Haar won her first junior world title at the 2011 road world championships in Copenhagen. She was part of a late six-woman breakaway from the peloton and won the race comfortably in a sprint for the line. History In 1995 Australian Bill Mitchell, a keen cyclist and professor of economics at the University of Newcastle, created the website titled "Bill’s Cycling Racing Results and News" after finding there was a need for fast-breaking news and race results in English-speaking countries. In 1999 Sydney-based publishing company Knapp Communications purchased the website from Mitchell, and in July 2007 they sold it to British publisher Future plc for £2.2m.
