Lars Woldt
Lars Woldt (born 15 December 1972) is a German operatic bass and voice teacher. Life Born in Herford, Woldt studied composition with Giselher Klebe as well as singing with Martin Christian Vogel and Thomas Quasthoff at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold. Further studies led him to Kammersänger Walter Berry, Franz Crass and to Edith Lienbacher. After a first engagement at the Landestheater Detmold, artistic director Brigitte Fassbaender engaged him in 2000 at the Tyrolean State Theatre, where he was a member of the ensemble until 2003. Since the 2004/2005 season, he has been a member of the ensemble at the Volksoper Wien. His interpretation of Kaspar in ''Der Freischütz'' impressed audiences and critics alike. Guest appearances have taken him among others to the Hamburg State Opera, the opera houses of Copenhagen, Graz and Gothenburg, the Staatstheater Braunschweig and the Linz State Theatre. A bass is a type of classical male singing voice and has the lowest vocal range of all voice types. B Minor Mass
The Mass in B minor (), BWV 232, is an extended setting of the Mass (music)#Ordinarium, Mass ordinary by Johann Sebastian Bach. The composition was completed in 1749, the year before the composer's death, and was to a large extent based on earlier work, such as a Sanctus for six vocal parts, BWV 232 III (early version), Sanctus Bach had composed in 1724. Sections that were specifically composed to complete the Mass in the late 1740s include Mass in B minor structure#Et incarnatus est, the "Et incarnatus est" part of the Credo. As usual for its time, the composition is formatted as a Neapolitan mass, consisting of a succession of choral movements with a broad orchestral accompaniment, and sections in which a more limited group of instrumentalists accompanies one or more vocal soloists. The ''Christmas Oratorio'' (German: ''Weihnachtsoratorium''), , is an oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach intended for performance in church during the Christmas season. It is in six parts, each part a cantata intended for performance on one of the major feast days of the Christmas period. It was written for the Christmas season of 1734 and incorporates music from earlier compositions, including three secular cantatas written during 1733 and 1734 and a largely lost church cantata, BWV 248a. ''Die Vögel'' (''The Birds''), Op. 30, is an opera in a prologue and two acts by Walter Braunfels. The libretto, written by the composer, is a free adaptation of Aristophanes' comedy '' The Birds'' which was performed at the Dionysos Theatre in Athens in 414 BC. ''A Midsummer Night's Dream'', Op. 64, is an opera with music by Benjamin Britten and set to a libretto adapted by the composer and Peter Pears from William Shakespeare's play, '' A Midsummer Night's Dream''. It was premiered on 11 June 1960 at the Aldeburgh Festival, conducted by the composer and with set and costume designs by Carl Toms. ''Mozart and Salieri'' ( rus, Моцарт и Сальери, Motsart i Salyeri ) is a one-act opera in two scenes by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, written in 1897 to a Russian libretto taken almost verbatim from Alexander Pushkin's 1830 verse drama of the same name. The story follows the apocryphal legend that Antonio Salieri poisoned Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart out of jealousy over the latter's music.
