Lars Tvinde
Lars Tvinde (11 September 1886 – 25 June 1973) was a Norwegian stage and film actor. Biography Tvinde was born at Voss in Hordaland, Norway. He was the son of Knut Haldorsen (1843–1927) and Eli Jørgensdotter Leidal (1842–1927). He attended Voss folkehøgskule and for eight years, he worked for his uncle at a store in Vossevangen. He also appeared at amateur theater in Bergen. He started working for Det Norske Teatret in Oslo during 1912. He said the first lines at the theatre's opening performance, Ivar Aasen's ''Ervingen'', on 2 January 1913. He is regarded as one of the driving forces at Det Norske Teatret, from its first season until his retirement in 1958. During his time on stage, he created memorable characters in both comic and the tragic roles. He also had a number of roles in film. Voss () is a municipality and a traditional district in Vestland county, Norway. The administrative center of the municipality is the village of Vossevangen. ''Felix'' is a Norwegian silent drama film from 1921. The film is based on the story ''Keiser Felix'' by Gustav Aagaard. It was adapted into a screenplay by Gunnar Nilsen-Vig, who was also the film's cinematographer. Rasmus Breistein directed the film, and it was distributed by Kommunenes Filmcentral. Plot As autumn storms are blowing in over the island of Fagerøy, the priest's wife Else Margrete and her child die in childbirth. During the storm, a ship is also wrecked off the island, and the only survivor is a three-month-old boy. The maritime pilot Abraham takes the child to the rectory, and the young priest accepts the boy as a gift from heaven for the child he has lost. Olav Dalgard
Olav Dalgard (June 19, 1898 – December 25, 1980) was a Norwegian literary and art historian, filmmaker, author and educator. Biography Dalgard was born Olaf Hanssen in Folldal, in Hedmark, Norway. From the age of three, he was raised at Oppdal in Trøndelag. He earned an M.A. degree in literature and art history at the University of Oslo in 1929. He was an advocate of the use of Nynorsk and served as the chairman of the student Nynorsk association. He was also involved in the Mot Dag movement. Dalgard worked as a literary critic for the newspapers ''Dagbladet'' and ''Arbeiderbladet''. Dalgard took over as dramatic advisor and instructor for Det Norske Teateret in 1931 and was involved with the theater for 48 years. He studied film in the Soviet Union and in the 1930s produced several films with a socialist message. Dalgard was also active in the Norwegian Labour Party's cultural operations. It is based on the novel ''Vigdis og hennes barns fedre'' (Vigdis and Her Child's Fathers), which was published by the lawyer Albert Wiesener in 1931 under the pseudonym Frantz Ferdinand. Plot Vigdis is the daughter of the teacher and fervent church singer Jens Bjørkeli. Vigdis is often at parties with other young people from the area, something her strict parents do not like. Trysil-Knut
''Trysil-Knut'' is a Norwegian film from 1942. Rasmus Breistein directed this skiing melodrama during the German occupation of Norway. It tells the story of the legendary skier Knut from Trysil, an ardent patriot at the beginning of the 1800s who uses his skiing skills to prevent war from breaking out between Norway and Sweden. Knut also wins back a property that he was cheated out of and his "princess." Like many of the films from the interwar period or the occupation years, this is an adventure story. Breistein's point of departure for the story was a popular novel by Rudolf Muus from 1914, and he was also inspired by Bernt Lund's poem from 1861 and by 's story from 1909. ''Gjest Baardsen'' is a Norwegian film from 1939 directed by Tancred Ibsen. Alfred Maurstad played the title role. The film is based on the life of the outlaw Gjest Baardsen, but it is a blend of fact and fiction. The plot is taken from a chapbook published by Holger Sinding under the pseudonym Halle Sira. The film was shot at the Fuhr farm in Luster, at Turtagrø in the Sogn Mountains, and at Videseter in the Stryn Mountains.
