Lars-Göran Ã…slund (born June 7, 1945 in Ã…sarna). is a former Swedish cross-country skier who competed in the late 1960s and early 1970s. His biggest success was at the 1970 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Vysoké Tatry where he won two medals with a gold in the 15 km and a bronze in the 4 × 10 km relay. Competitive cross-country skiing encompasses a variety of race formats and course lengths. Rules of cross-country skiing are sanctioned by the International Ski Federation and by various national organizations. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1970 took place 14–22 February 1970 in Vysoké Tatry, Czechoslovakia (present-day Slovakia). The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships is a biennial nordic skiing event organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS). The World Championships was started in 1925 for men and opened for women's participation in 1954. World Championship events include nordic skiing's three disciplines: cross-country skiing, ski jumping, and nordic combined (the latter being a combination sport consisting of both cross-country and ski jumping).
