Larry Pearson
Larry Pearson (born November 2, 1953) is an American former stock car racing driver and the son of three-time Winston Cup champion David Pearson. He won the Busch Series championship in 1986 and 1987, but struggled during his brief tenure in Winston Cup. His last ride in NASCAR came in the Busch Series in 1999, in the No. 00 Pontiac owned by Buckshot Racing. His Winston Cup statistics include 57 starts and 3 top-tens. His Busch statistics include 259 starts, 15 wins, 78 top-fives, 129 top-tens, 12 poles, and 6 top-ten point finishes (including the two championships). Pearson was involved in a violent turn two crash with Charlie Glotzbach on March 20, 2010, during a legends race at Bristol Motor Speedway, knocking him unconscious. Buckshot Racing
Buckshot Racing is a former NASCAR team owned by Billy Jones and competed in the Winston Cup and Busch Series. The team compiled a total of four wins throughout its history. The team debuted in 1995 with Jones' son Buckshot driving. Jones made his debut at The Milwaukee Mile with Longhorn Steakhouse sponsorship. Jones ran a total of nine races that season, finishing ninth at South Boston Speedway. The following season, they ran a total of eighteen races with Aquafresh sponsoring. David Pearson (racing Driver)
David Gene Pearson (December 22, 1934 – November 12, 2018) was an American stock car driver, who raced from 1960 to 1986 in the former NASCAR Grand National and Winston Cup Series (now called the NASCAR Cup Series), most notably driving the No. 21 Mercury for Wood Brothers Racing. Pearson won the 1960 NASCAR Rookie of the Year award and three Cup Series championships (1966, 1968, and 1969). He never missed a race in the years he was active. NASCAR described his 1974 season as an indication of his "consistent greatness", finishing third in the season points having competed in only 19 of 30 races. Winston Cup
The NASCAR Cup Series is the top racing series of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). Myrtle Beach 250
The Myrtle Beach 250 was a NASCAR Busch Series stock car race held at Myrtle Beach Speedway, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Added to the Busch Series schedule in 1988, Myrtle Beach Speedway hosted one race per year through the 2000 season, after which it was removed from the schedule. Hickory Motor Speedway
Hickory Motor Speedway is a short track located in Hickory, North Carolina. It is one of stock car racing's most storied venues, and is often referred to as the "World's Most Famous Short Track" and the "Birthplace of the NASCAR Stars". The track first opened in 1951 as a dirt track. Gwyn Staley won the first race at the speedway and later became the first track champion. Drivers such as Junior Johnson, Ned Jarrett, and Ralph Earnhardt also became track champions in the 1950s, with Earnhardt winning five of them.
