Larry Pashnick
Larry John Pashnick (born April 25, 1956) is an American former baseball pitcher. Pashnick, a right-hander, played three seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1982 to 1984, posting a career won–loss record of 7–8 and a 4.17 earned run average (ERA). After attending Michigan State University, Pashnick signed with the Detroit Tigers in 1979 as an amateur free agent and made his MLB debut with the Tigers in 1982. That year, he went 4–4 in 28 appearances, including 13 starts, and had a 4.01 ERA. In 1983, Pashnick compiled a 1–3 record in 12 games, including six starts, and his ERA jumped to 5.26. During the 1983 off-season, the Tigers traded him to the Minnesota Twins for outfielder Rusty Kuntz. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the pitcher is assigned the number 1. The pitcher is often considered the most important player on the defensive side of the game, and as such is situated at the right end of the defensive spectrum. Rusty Kuntz
Russell Jay Kuntz (; born February 4, 1955) is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) outfielder. He played for the Chicago White Sox, Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers between 1979 and 1985. He never appeared in more than 84 games in any season during his playing career. In the final game of the 1984 World Series, Kuntz hit a pop fly to the second baseman that became the deciding run batted in (RBI). Kuntz grew up in Kansas and California, playing three sports in high school and community college. He went to the Division III World Series twice with California State University, Stanislaus before being selected by the White Sox in the 11th round of the 1977 Major League Baseball draft. After the 1984 season, Kuntz was unable to return to form the next year. He was demoted to the minor leagues early in the 1985 season and was out of professional baseball as a player shortly thereafter.
