Larry Page (singer)
Larry Page (born Leonard Davies, c. 1938, in Hayes, Hillingdon, Middlesex) is an English former pop singer and record producer of the late 1950s, 1960s and early 1970s. Biography After changing his name to Larry Page in honour of Larry Parks, the star of ''The Jolson Story'' (1946), the teenager began a recording career as a singer. Page tried to magnify his fame through the wearing of unusually large Glasses, spectacles, as "Larry Page the Teenage Rage". The title was originally coined by Jack Bentley, the showbusiness correspondent from '' The Sunday Pictorial''. He toured the United Kingdom with Cliff Richard and appeared at top venues, including the Royal Albert Hall. He was a regular on television programmes such as ''Six-Five Special'' and '' Thank Your Lucky Stars''. He later became a successful manager, record producer and record label owner. Hayes, Hillingdon
Hayes is a town in west London, historically situated within the county of Middlesex, and now part of the London Borough of Hillingdon. The town's population, including its localities Hayes End, Harlington and Yeading, was recorded as 83,564 in the 2011 census. It is situated west of Charing Cross, or east of Slough. The Grand Union Canal flows through the heart of Hayes, accompanied by the Great Western Main Line and significant industry, a town centre, residential areas and country parks. James Patrick Page (born 9 January 1944) is an English musician who achieved international success as the guitarist and founder of the rock band Led Zeppelin. Page is prolific in creating guitar riffs. His style involves various alternative guitar tunings and melodic solos, coupled with aggressive, distorted guitar tones. It is also characterized by his folk and eastern-influenced acoustic work. He is also noted for occasionally playing his guitar with a cello bow to create a droning sound texture to the music. Wild Thing (The Troggs Song)
"Wild Thing" is a song written by American songwriter Chip Taylor and popularized by the English rock band the Troggs. It was originally recorded and released by the American rock band the Wild Ones in 1965, but it did not chart. The Troggs' single reached number one on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and number two on the UK Singles Chart in 1966. Their version of "Wild Thing" was ranked at number 257 on the ''Rolling Stone'' magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. It has also been performed by many other musicians. Background The first studio version was recorded by the Wild Ones, a band based in New York and set up by socialite Sybil Christopher. Penny Farthing Records was a British independent record label, established in 1969 by the British record producer Larry Page as a progression from his mildly successful 1960s record label, Page One Records. The label signed some artists of note. It released a number of hit songs, including "Venus" by Shocking Blue, "Beautiful Sunday" by Daniel Boone, " Blue Is the Colour" by the Chelsea football team, and "Sleepy Shores" by the Johnny Pearson and His Orchestra. Page One Records, established in 1966, was the UK independent record label, owned by the producer/manager, Larry Page. The Troggs (originally called the Troglodytes) are an English garage rock band formed in Andover, Hampshire in May 1964.
