Larry Murphy (criminal)
Larry Murphy is an Irishman who was jailed in January 2001, having been convicted of kidnapping, repeatedly raping, and attempting to murder a young Carlow woman on 11 February 2000, in the Wicklow Mountains. During the ordeal, Murphy kidnapped the woman and locked her in the boot of his Toyota Corolla car. He then drove to Kilkea in County Kildare, where he repeatedly raped and beat her. She was then locked in the boot again while he drove to Spinans Cross in the Wicklow Mountains where he again raped her several times vaginally, anally and orally. The woman began to fight back and Murphy produced a plastic bag, which he placed over her head in an attempt to suffocate her. He stopped his assault when two hunters came across the scene and recognised Murphy. Murphy fled the area and returned to his home. Glenealy, County Wicklow
Glenealy () is a village west of Wicklow Town, in County Wicklow, on the R752 road (Ireland), R752 road. The Dublin–Rosslare Europort, Rosslare railway line also passes through the village. Since the extension of the N11 road (Ireland), N11 dual-carriageway from Dublin to within of the village in 2004, it has been undergoing population growth, attracting people commuting to Dublin. Paul Williams (born 1964) is an Irish media personality and writer on crime. His TV credits include ''Dirty Money'' and the self-regarding title ''Paul Williams Investigates—The Battle for the Gas Fields''. In 2011 he joined the '' Irish Sun'', where he is employed as "Investigations Editor", after the closure of the ''Irish News of the World''. In criminal law, kidnapping is the unlawful confinement of a person against their will, often including transportation/asportation.
