Larkhall is a ward in the London Borough of Lambeth, represented locally by Labour councillors Andy Wilson, Tina Valcarcel and Tim Windle. Prior to her entry to Parliament, it was represented by Marsha de Cordova MP. It is one of eight wards in the Vauxhall constituency represented at national level by Florence Eshalomi MP. Lambeth () is a London boroughs, London borough in South London, England, which forms part of Inner London. Its name was recorded in 1062 as ''Lambehitha'' ("landing place for lambs") and in 1255 as ''Lambeth''. The SW (South Western) postcode area, also known as the London SW postcode area, is a group of 20 postcode districts within the London post town in England. The area comprises the South Western operational district (covering the subdivisions of postcode district SW1, plus SW2 through SW10) and the Battersea operational district (covering SW11 through SW20), and is the only area within the London post town to lie on both sides of the River Thames. Marsha De Cordova
Marsha Chantal de Cordova (born 23 January 1976) is a British Labour Party politician serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Battersea since 2017. She was Shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities from 6 April 2020 until her resignation on 14 September 2021. Early life and education De Cordova was born on 23 January 1976 in Bristol, England. She has five siblings, one of whom is professional footballer Bobby Decordova-Reid. She was born with nystagmus and is registered blind. De Cordova attended Hanham High School (now Hanham Woods Academy). De Cordova studied Law and European Policy Studies at London South Bank University. Florence Dauta Eshalomi (''née'' Nosegbe; born 18 September 1980) is a British Labour and Co-operative politician serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) representing Vauxhall since 2019. She previously served as the Member of the London Assembly (AM) for Lambeth and Southwark from 2016 to 2021, and represented Brixton Hill on the Lambeth London Borough Council from 2006 to 2018. Early life Born Florence Nosegbe in Birmingham, the daughter of Anthony Nosegbe, she is a lifelong Brixton resident and the eldest of three girls from a single parent family. Her mother, the late Maria Da-Silva, worked as a school teacher until her illness forced her to retire early. Florence supported her mother, who suffered from sickle cell anaemia and kidney failure, as her carer. Clapham () is a suburb in south west London, England, lying mostly within the London Borough of Lambeth, but with some areas (most notably Clapham Common) extending into the neighbouring London Borough of Wandsworth. History Early history The present day Clapham High Street is on the route of a Roman road. The road is recorded on a Roman monumental stone found nearby. According to its inscription, the stone was erected by a man named Vitus Ticinius Ascanius. It is estimated to date from the 1st century. (The stone was discovered during building works at Clapham Common South Side in 1912. It is now placed by the entrance of the former Clapham Library, in the Old Town.) Stockwell
Stockwell is a district in south west London, part of the London Borough of Lambeth, England. It is situated south of Charing Cross. Battersea, Brixton, Clapham, South Lambeth, Oval and Kennington all border Stockwell. History The name Stockwell is likely to have originated from a local well, with "stoc" being Old English for a tree trunk or post. From the thirteenth to the start of the nineteenth century, Stockwell was a rural manor at the edge of London. It included market gardens and John Tradescant's botanical garden – commemorated in Tradescant Road, which was built over it in 1880, and in a memorial outside St Stephen's church. In the nineteenth century it developed as an elegant middle-class suburb. Adam Buick
Adam Lewis Buick (born 6 January 1944) is a prominent London-based socialist. Buick was born in Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales and graduated from the University of Oxford. He joined the Socialist Party of Great Britain in 1962 and since then has been one of its most active members. He is a frequent public speaker for the Party, and as of 2007 is the all-time second-most prolific contributor to the ''Socialist Standard''.
