Laarne
Laarne () is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of and Laarne proper. On 1 January 2018, Laarne had a total population of 12,487. The total area is 32.07 km². The current mayor of Laarne is Ignace De Baerdemaecker, from the VLD (Liberal) party. History The village lies to the east of Ghent, near a former course of the River the Scheldt and is notable for its castle. The castle dates from the twelfth and later centuries, notably, the seventeenth, and has been sympathetically restored and re-furnished. The name arises from the Germanic ''hlaeri'' which signifies terrain seen as wooded and marshy. It is possible to speculate that the village originated in serving the castle, which in turn, guarded the river approach to Ghent from the sea. Laren, Gelderland
Laren is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Lochem. Laren was a separate municipality until 1971, when it was merged with Lochem. History It was first mentioned between 1294 and 1295 as Lare, and means pasture in forest. Laren developed into a village in the 19th century along the road from Lochem to Deventer. Laren () is a town and municipality in the province of North Holland, Netherlands. Located in the Gooi region, it is the oldest town in the area. Together with its neighbor Blaricum, Laren is one of the most affluent towns in the Netherlands. ''Freddi Fish'' is a series of point and click games from Humongous Entertainment. The series began in 1994. Freddi Fish is a yellow fish who takes on detective investigations throughout the series. Her best friend, a green fish named Luther, goes with her on all her adventures. Ro Laren is a fictional character appearing on a recurring basis in the fifth, sixth, and seventh seasons of the American science fiction television series '' Star Trek: The Next Generation''. Portrayed by Michelle Forbes, she is a member of the Bajoran species who joins the crew of the USS ''Enterprise''-D over the fervent objection of Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), who cited her previous court-martial. Ro, too, was against joining the Enterprise crew, but said "it is better than prison."
