Lara Dunkley
Lara Dunkley (born 31 May 1995) is an Australian netball player in the Suncorp Super Netball league, playing for the Queensland Firebirds. Dunkley began her elite netball career with the Melbourne Vixens in the mid 2010s, playing for the club's reserves team the Victorian Fury in the Australian Netball League (ANL), where she captained the team in the 2018 season. She was elevated to the Vixens' senior list for the 2019 Suncorp Super Netball season, replacing the long-term injured Tayla Honey. The Brisbane Lions is a professional Australian rules football club based in Brisbane, Queensland, that plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was formed in late 1996 via a merger of the Melbourne-based 1883 foundation VFL club the Fitzroy Lions, and the 1987 Queensland based expansion club the Brisbane Bears, with the colours of maroon, blue, and gold being drawn from both parent clubs. Joshua Dunkley (born 9 January 1997) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL), having been drafted as a father-son pick to the . Early life Dunkley was born in Sydney, the second of three children to footballer Andrew and his wife Lisa. After Andrew retired from AFL football in 2002, the family returned south to country Victoria and lived on a farm near Yarram in the Gippsland region. Dunkley participated in the Auskick program at Yarram. During his time playing for Gippsland Power, Dunkley developed into a promising leader (captaining the team in his final year), and his strong overhead marking skills, along with his ability to win the contested ball, had many comparing him to Sydney star Luke Parker. 2020 Suncorp Super Netball Season
The 2020 Suncorp Super Netball season was the fourth season of the premier netball league in Australia. The season was originally scheduled to commence on 2 May, though was delayed to 1 August due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The defending premiers, New South Wales Swifts were eliminated in the first week of the finals series by the eventual runners-up West Coast Fever. The premiers were the Melbourne Vixens, who defeated the Fever by two goals in the Grand Final at Nissan Arena in Brisbane. Overview Teams Format The season is played over fourteen rounds, allowing every team to play each other twice, once at home and once away. The top four teams on the ladder at the conclusion of the regular season qualify for the finals series.
